A note, Kali has already made it illegal to even enter the state with any commercial diesel truck that predates some specified year.

I do not see how this is legal, “Full faith and credit”, “Interstate commerce”, etc.
But I understand that the fines are heavy and they are getting away with it.
I also know that 1974 and earlier “Exempt” vehicles command a major premium over post 74 vehicles.
Those who care WILL find a way around this if it actually happens.
The lobotomized will “Work from home”, NOT work at all, or ride the cattle cars to commute.
The mass EV sales will not happen, and if they did other states do not have the extra capacity to bail out Kali to supply the power to charge them.

If you bring in a vehicle from out of state into CA, the DMV wants to see the “Calif Compliant” emmissions sticker.
New ICEs won’t be Calif compliant.
For motorcycles this is for under 7000 miles. Over that they don’t need to see the sticker. Ask me how I know. Previous owner took stickers off the tank of course. I did solve it. Only took 5 months.
When CA went with base coat / clear coat auto paint years ago, the whole industry followed suit just due to market scale of CA. I fear same will happen with EVs, although CA will not likely have their power grid updated by that time. The middle and lower class will end up paying for it.
