McConnell’s not wrong, but Democratic momentum also isn’t what it seems
The Hill ^ | 08/24/2022 | KEITH NAUGHTON

The Democrats are riding a wave of successes the past few weeks. Gas prices edging downward, passage of the improbably named Inflation Reduction Act, successful meddling in Republican primaries and improving poll numbers have combined to make Biden and his compatriots believe they can win control of the Senate, and optimism is rising about the House.

But when you dig through the numbers, Democrats are getting ahead of themselves.

The RAT momentum is mostly made up of fake news from CNN, FAUX abc, SeeBS and the Rainbow Chicken.

“Wave of successes? Yeah right.”

The people are stupid. They can see gas prices down, doesn’t matter that they’re way up since Biden took office. They are told there was no inflation, and they aren’t bright enough to work that one out. They saw the big bill passed and they’re hoping for some handouts. So, yes, Dems are winning, for the moment.

Currently, the market is pulling back, and gas is expected to go up. If gas does go up, and the market continues to contract, along with layoffs, that will be enough to get the attention of the very uninformed American public. The public will punish Dems if they are feeling discomfort before the elections.

You can bet your last dollar the Deep State powers are conniving to postpone the misery increase until after the election. They may or may not succeed. Whether or not we remain a nation of free people hangs in the balance.

If the GOP cannot hire an effective political marketer and create great memorable world class TV commercials with all the crap the Dems have provided on a Silver platter, then they don’t deserve to govern in the majority.

Senate control is a function of math in the current cohort of Senate seats that are being contested this year.

The GOP has a major hill to climb for two reasons:

1. 20 of the 34 seats in this election cycle are currently held by Republicans, so they have more seats to defend.

2. The only open seat held by a retiring Democrat is Vermont, which is a deep "blue" state and isn't going to change hands. Meanwhile, there are Republicans retiring in SIX states, including the swing states of North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

I'd be surprised if the Republicans even maintain the 50 seats they now hold, let alone win control of the Senate.

It’s “The Hill”, the opinion organ of the swamp.

McConnell has to relegated to the back bench. No leadership position. No committee assignments. The argument that he did a good job with judges and justices no longer holds water. Any real conservative, one across all issues, can do a better job. Strip McConnell of ever ounce of his power and leave him as a bumbling lump of chicom platitudes.

Democrat momentum? The Dems have as much momentum as the Ukrainian army does for its Kherson offensive.

I also don’t think a GOP controlled House is very certain.

The Turtle would rather be in power as Minority Leader than a nobody in Majority Leader4 Ted Cruz’s administration. That is why he tried pouring cold water on the BIG RED WAVE that is coming.
