HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -- Want to live longer? Living in Hawaii may help.
A new study published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr71/nvsr71-02.pdf
says Hawaii residents still live the longest compared to the rest of the nation.
The CDC compiled data from 2020 and analyzed life expectancy for each state and the District of Columbia.
Hawaii had the highest life expectancy: 80.7 years.
Life expectancy in the U.S. declined overall from 2019 to 2020, mostly due to the coronavirus pandemic and drug overdose deaths. Overall, life expectancy in the U.S. declined by 1.8 years.
Life expectancy in Hawaii had the smallest decline -- 0.2 years.
The life expectancy for men in Hawaii was 77.6 years. For women, it was 83.8.
The state with the lowest life expectancy was Mississippi at 71.9 years.
Here are the top five states with the highest life expectancies:
1. Hawaii -- 80.7 years 2. Washington -- 79.2 years 3. Minnesota -- 79.1 years 4. California -- 79.0 years 5. Massachusetts -- 79.0 years
Here are the states with the lowest life expectancies:
47. Kentucky -- 73.5 years 48. Alabama -- 73.2 years 49. Louisiana -- 73.1 years 50. West Virginia -- 72.8 years 51. Mississippi -- 71.9 years
It says 79 years in CA.
It would seem like a lot longer than that.
Pretty place to be sure, but the Stalinist Demonrat politics would kill a sane person.
Don’t think it has anything to do with the nice weather. Probably more to do with diet and exercise.
One may live longer in Hawaii but one will definitely live poorer.
You don’t actually live longer in Hawaii. It just seems like it.

No thanks. Lived there for three years. Good place to visit, but the traffic, cost of living and natives on Oahu were horrible.
Personally, I have never met a skinny Samoan.
Hawai‘i ranks below average for lung cancer survival rates, early diagnosis
Also, looks like mortality rates are age adjusted.
If Hawaiians tend to run younger, combined with the lowest influenza mortality rate in the nation, there’s the fine print.
True
Demographics. Hawaii has LOTS of Asians - particularly people of Japanese ancestry. Asians in general tend to be less obese due to their diets. The Japanese in particular got dealt some good cards when it comes to heart disease which is one of the 2 biggest killers. Hawaii has relatively few Blacks who have higher rates of obesity and heart disease and lower birth weight on average all of which leads to shorter life expectancy.
If they didn’t control for demographics, this “study” is garbage.
The politics of the top five would make life untenable for any freedom loving individuals.
Run by Leftist tards.
Cost of living is astronomical.
No thanks.
That also means fewer dindus running around murdering people, which certainly helps with life expectancy as well.

Wow... literally all blue states vs all red states.
The only thing I see as a possible difference is the animal intake in one’s diet. Less animal fat means a longer life. Lots of deep fried animal product like fried chicken in those red states.
I know this site does not want to hear this, but minimizing or reducing the animals one eats and adding more whole plants into one’s diet will only help one’s arteries and keep that ticker to beat a little longer.
Yeah, that's why it's a crock. Like those anonymous "polls" the best places to live...... and then there's a list of democrat run cesspools like Seattle, Portland, san fran, denver...
Mere propoganda. And false.
Probably the most racist state in the country. They hate whitey over there.

Yep. Loma Linda CA is full of Seventh day Adventists. Sabbath keeping vegetarians and they live forever. The Bible doesn’t lie about God’s laws. They are good for us. Ten commandments (moral law) and his original dietary laws...see Genesis:

and bored out of your mind from driving round and round and round the single paved two-lane coastal road around each island ...
