Yeah, under 40% probability to develop into a tropical cyclone. I’m not sure where this Cat 5 stuff is coming from.

If they could accurately predict these things more than a few days in advance I’d concede that they really have some understanding of the climate systems.

Here are MY predictions for the storms that are marked with “”X”s” on the map at your link. The one that is farther north and farther east will spin out into the North Atlantic without making landfall - only a danger to ships not paying attention.

The one that is farther south and farther west has a good chance to scoot between Cuba and Mexico and enter the Gulf of Mexico and possibly make landfall in the U.S. as a strong storm.

My predictions are not based on a knowledge of meteorology but rather decades of observations. I fully admit that I could be wildly wrong.
