(The Hill) – Former President Donald Trump is seeking to temporarily block the FBI from reviewing the classified materials seized from his home, asking the court to appoint a “special master” in the interim to help them review the evidence collected as they executed a search warrant.
In a 21-page motion, seen below, that echoes much of the former president’s claims that the search was politically motivated, Trump’s attorneys ask for outside oversight to ensure the materials seized from his home do not include items they argue could be protected by executive privilege.
The suit asks for the court to enjoin the FBI from reviewing the evidence it has collected until a special master is appointed.
“It is unreasonable to allow the prosecutorial team to review them without meaningful safeguards,” Trump’s attorneys write.
“Short of returning the seized items to the movant, only a neutral review by a special master can protect the ‘great public interest’ in preserving ‘the confidentiality of conversations that take place in the president’s performance of his official duties.’”

I don't recall any of the accusations leveled against PDJT referred to as "claims" by anyone in the MSM.
Just as I don't recall the word "alleged" or "allegedly" being used in connection with even the most obviously ridiculous accusations against him.
Given that the raid was done AFTER the exclusion of Trump’s legal team AND given that the FBI/DoJ has admitted that they included Trump’s Passports with their takings, under any ordinary circumstance, this request would be an easy grant. Today? The animosity is thick as treacle and as sticky.
The media carefully chooses their words, no doubt about that.

They probably shared everything with Pelosi, Liz Cheney, Chuck U Schumer, Obama and Biden, from the day after the raid. And copy machines going full tilt.

I thought the media had declared the word “raid” for Mar-A-Lago as a silly right-winger incendiary term for it and that it was definitely positively not a raid. Did they get a new memo from the DNC?

Just heard that Biden, on April 11, 2023 rescinded Pres. Trumps executive privildge over the documents and, I think, Trumps team didn’t know. Somebody fill in the blanks on this one because I just heard it out of one ear as I walked past the tv.
Forget who said it but while flipping back and forth to catch how this was being reported, someone actually said - “He’s accused the FBI of planting evidence”.. I think the actual quote of President Trump or one of his advisors was - “they COULD be planting evidence” but that’s not nearly as inflammatory as the way they chose to state it. Their lies and devious ways are so frustrating..
Levin has reviewed the motion on his evening show. It’s a ‘general warrant’ prohibited by Constitutional law. This is all out war.
The Feds must have seized his documentation of the grand conspiracy against him by Comey and all the other plotters. There is no doubt in my mind he has more proof of the traiterous plan to overthrow the US government administered by Trump than Durham has.
