A pro-Russian propaganda channel has issued a story claiming the country's troops have been 'poisoned in a chemical attack in Ukraine'.
The information, regarded as suspect, comes amid fears Russia is looking for reasons to justify using chemical weapons in its invasion of its southern neighbor.
Russia Today reports traces of Botulinum toxin Type B, which is an 'organic poison of artificial origin,' were found in samples taken from soldiers, according to Russia's defense ministry.
The ministry accused Kiev of 'domestic terrorism' and insisted Russian troops were 'hospitalized with signs of severe poisoning' after being stationed near the village of Vasilyevka in Zaporozhe Region on July 31.
The statement added: 'The Zelensky regime has authorized terrorist attacks with the use of toxic substances against Russian personnel and civilians.'
But in response, an adviser to Ukraine's interior ministry said that the alleged poisoning could have been caused by RUSSIAN FORCES EATING EXPIRED CANNED MEAT.
The Russian Ministry's report did not say how many servicemen had suffered or what their condition was now. It did not say what the "supporting evidence" was.
Russia has occupied the power plant since the early weeks of Putin's war in Ukraine.
However, warnings about the stability of the plant have stepped up in recent weeks as Russia attempts to disconnect it from Ukraine's main power grid and divert its energy to Crimea - and as a major Ukrainian counter-offensive to re-take the south ratchets up.
Kyiv says Moscow has turned the nuclear plant - Europe's largest - into a military base, stored explosives in and around the reactors, and is preparing a 'false flag' attack. Ukraine's nuclear regulator says the Russian commander in charge of the plant has told his troops they must be ready to blow it up rather than let Ukraine re-take it.

Ukrainian emergency workers in the city of Zaporizhzhia rehearse for a nuclear disaster. Hazmat-suited workers hose down the body of a volunteer on a stretcher to rehearse what they would do in the event of a disaster at the nearby Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is occupied by Russia
This sounds like the kind of imagining liberals like to do.
this story does not seem to have any actual sources. So I am taking it as propaganda from our side. Why are Ukraine stories so prominate in our news. We don’t care when there are lots of things we do care about that never hit the news. Crime for one.
Russia wouldn’t need to resort to chemical weapons if they were winning ... so obviously this action loudly indicates that Russia must be losing
actions speak louder than words!
If they were 19 year old kids at home drinking “the people water” in some hellhole middle sized russian city would they be any safer? An entire generation of russians will know the beauty of conscription to an mismanaged russian armed forces.
Send in US Preditors and Global Hawks.... finish this in a week. All those soviet pilots over Mig Alley did not just appear.
The sad thing is that we can’t be sure anymore who is reporting the news truthfully.
This sounds like counter propaganda to the propaganda.
Ukraine already said they’d prefer being nuked to surrendering this morning so I don’t see how this is “worse”?
Sorry, the Daily Mail mus be excerpted. There is more info & photos at link.

What is wrong with you?
BTW, Guterres is due in Lviv today alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss the situation around the power plant and the possibility of sending in a team of international inspectors to ensure its safety.
Erdogan, making his first visit to Ukraine since the war began, will also discuss a deal to allow Ukrainian ships carrying vital loads of grain out of the country to avoid a global famine.
The Dailymail = New Yawk Times , heh . Does anyone believe them ?
“What is wrong with you?”
Nothing, I’m fine. Just watching a video on you tube.

How are your doing?
We support Ukraine as they are being invaded by Russia, not only are we supporting them as Americans, but our NATO alliance is supporting them, naturally, Ukraine is in our news.
What results from this Russian invasion will play a major role in Russia’s ability to threaten us all in the future, and Russia’s ability to assist the Communists in a war with Red China or North Korea.
Daily Mail propaganda is always good for a laugh!
Unfortunately for the neocon globalists and Z, winning on twitter doesn’t translate well to the field where the ukes are in a lot of trouble
.
This is why Z is desperate with sabotage attacks and idiotically shelling a nuclear power plant.
.
The ukie maginot line has now been penetrated in at least a dozen locations. Russians haven’t completed breaking thru the fortifications yet but three breakouts are starting to look like the Popasna breakout which led to the liberation of the entire Luhansk republic. the breakout near Ugledar could lead to encircling there or to Marinka. The pesky breakout is still advancing...and a main supply road for Adveeka is under fire control. The Wagner breakout south of Bakmut moves slow but moving.Dacha and BacMudski have captured.Kodema and Soledar will fall soon. Uke lines could collapse entirely so Z may have take a break from getting Schuab’s gay marriage and LGBT ideology implemented...for those who don’t know the ukraine civil war started in 2014.

When so many stories have sources that are from social media and translated, tracking down riginal sources is a problem.

Actually this isn’t that unbelievable...
Expired canned meat? Surely not. All their own rations were in date, weren’t they?!
Anyhoo... I heard a similar story from one of the refugees here over a month ago - their account is, the Russians forced their way into a house and ordered the people in it to cook. So they used whatever rotten stuff they could find.
