It's now almost six months to the day since Russia invaded Ukraine.
According to the United Nations, the conflict has displaced at least 12 million Ukrainians while huge parts of the east and the south of the country lie devastated.
But according to frontline volunteer, Seva, he along with many of his countrymen and women remain committed to the war - even if it means paying the ultimate cost.
Speaking as part of a special edition of Sky News' Ukraine War Diaries podcast, to mark six months since the beginning of the war, Seva explains.
"Everyone is tired of war, but [on the] other hand, I'd say 99.9% of Ukrainians do understand that no peaceful negotiation with such a country as Russia is possible. It's just war, war 'til the end.
"I was talking to many people and they [said], 'we don't want to live in occupied territories, we don't want to live in new so-called Russia'."
Seva says that many he speaks to don't want to live in "new, so-called Russia".
"If you are talking about even nuclear attacks many people say, 'we don't care. Let then bomb us. Let them kill us but we don't want to be Russians.'

Couldn’t be any worse than Stalin’s famine.
I wonder if this guy was chosen to speak for everyone. He reminds me of a democrat who assumes everyone agrees with them.
I don’t think “ Seva” speaks for 99.9% of Ukrainians.
Maybe he should ditch the uniform, move to Mariupol, spend time
with civilians there, hear their stories, and join the reconstruction.
I was thinking the same thing. Impossible to gauge at this point. If that sentiment really existed, Ukraine would have no problem finding men for their military.
Russia is downwind...
It is getting tiresome. Maybe a crater from lviv to moscow would make all parties content.
When I was a young boy, Juneteenth was celebrated by the execution of Julius and Ethyl Rosenburg who gave Russia nuclear secrets which allowed Russia to become a nuclear power. Shortly after the execution of the Rosenburgs, a leftist nuclear disarmament group formed to preach to Americans that we needed to unilaterally disarm to save the world from nuclear annihilation. The average World War II veteran had a slogan which is still valid today: “Better dead than read.”
Better to die on your feet, than live on your knees.
We will fight to the last ukrainian
We?
Putin already said he wants to treat Ukraine the same way Hitler treated Poland - as a subjugated slave colony
naturally, no Ukrainian wants to be enslaved or killed - their only future under Russia - so of course they’re fighting back hard
Our surrender monkees warn us over and over if we don’t follow Kremlin instructions we will force Russia to end us.
Well that would take out that the gas pipelines to Europe. Gonna be a cold war winter.
The trouble is that “nuclear attack” against Ukraine wouldn’t just stop there. WE, the entirely of the western world, particularly the US are being goaded, shamed, cajoled, bribed, blackmailed(?) and enticed with MIC complicity to join its suicide mania.
Not my problem, not my war, certainly not my children or grandchildren as fodder.
When did Putin say he wants Ukraine to be a subjugated slave colony?
“Millions of you will die, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.”
I must have red that wrong.
This “Ukraine” fellow seems adamant.
