John Anderson tried that against Reagan. The Carter people wanted him to drop out and wouldn't have him at the debate. So Reagan debated Anderson sans Carter, then Reagan went head to head with Carter. Anderson, a "moderate" REpublican, largely drew from Dems who weren't comfortable with Carter. Biden has the same problem.

Ross Perot drew from Bush because he ran as a populist. Cheney cannot recast herself.

Any thoughts on when the January 6 committee will be dissolved? Given that Republicans still need to take back the House, get sworn in, and overcome any RINO objections I’d say we’re looking at January 31, 2023 at the earliest.

Now when she sits front and center in the J6 committee, it is a reminder that she has been utterly rejected by the voters, the only support being from democrats voting in the republican primary. So the committee is essentially a bunch of democrats running the show and NOT a bipartisan committee- not that it was one to begin with.
