That brings us to the second question: Why weren’t the passports listed on the inventory? FBI agents certainly know what passports look like. The inventory is a legal record of everything the FBI took out of Trump’s home in executing the search. There may be some understandable fuzziness on the identity of each and every single sheet of paper in those boxes, but passports are unique and instantly recognizable — and look nothing like the documents in question.

Better check them for tracking chips.
Take enough and an inventory doesn’t have to be a real inventory.
Or uh, pathogens.
By taking the passports, it creates the impression that Trump is not allowed to leave the country due to possible crimes.
Good move by the Stasi, but it is illegal on so many levels.
Interesting that all the major news outlets listed in the story didn’t notice the omission but Ed Morrissey read the inventory and noticed.
Yes. So much was simply labeled "documents."
Thieves
What about ladies underwear.
Oh no! The FBI has returned passports to a potentially dangerous spy who has nuclear secrets and codes, capable of blowing up the world. What are they thinking?
The fact that the cameras were Not turned off and Trump and crew were watching in New York is the only reason the FBI had to admit to having the passports.
They know the camera footage can be posted and any time.
Who’s going to jail for that?…. lol!!!
They need to check the video to see if they tried the indies on.
Can you even imagine what else was left off the list?
Can you now imagine what they planted and put on the list, even though it was not on the premises (well, before the FeeBeez put it there)?
I’ll just bet someone ‘higher up’ figured that Trump would be a flight risk and told the goons to take them.
I really do NOT think Trump would be a coward and try to run.
They had 9 hours and an army of people and couldn’t produce an accurate inventory?
The purpose — other than simple abuse — was to check visa come/go stamps to try to build some sort of espionage claim.
This is not tracked nearly as well as it could be if you leave by private flight. I’ve come and gone from the USA on charter flights and while my USA or Israel passport is looked at, it’s seldom scanned or entered into a computer.
More so, when going country-to-country outside the USA. You get a tired guy who looks and puts a rubber stamp on it.
So, fishing, looking for a crime, establishing a timeline, in other words.
It isn’t Trump that has things to hide it’s why the heat is on him.
Come on man, are we supposed to assume that a bunch of criminals involved in an Armed Home Invasion are suppose to know every last item they stole at gunpoint?
8/9 of which being lawyers or accountants.
