Maybe after though?
Pure racism. So how many whites on their board will be let go?
I’m wouldn’t be so sure about that. White teachers in Minneapolis are the wokest among the wokest in the country and might actually be the ones who did this. What better way to show how true you are to the cause than lining up to be first to fall under the axe?
Now if only the global warming zealots would off themselves to save the planet and all the marxists in America would move to North Korea to save the Republic.
I don’t think so.
Leftist women are not known for enthusiastic self-sacrifice, regardless of their rhetoric.
I’ll amend my last post: a white Leftist woman may not enthusiastically support self sacrifice, but she may feel inhibited about opposing black women.
One of my African American engineering supervisors said it best, “You better hope we don’t take over, because we don’t want justice. We want revenge.”
Like your old dog who is blind and arthritic but you’re too scared to do the hard thing and take him to the vet for the last time, the public school is at that point.
Tsk tsk. How dare you ask for documentation, data, or evidence.
Don’t you know we just assert things, then spend gazillions of dollars to fix something based on assertions?
Silly person!
That is incredibly depressing, and likely accurate. How sad is that?
It is one thing to fall on your sword for a valid cause, but sheer stupidity to do it for a bad one.
Burn down the schools. They’re crap anyways.
When it’s on that other foot, I refer to it as tribalism. When Whitey isn’t th convenient villain, they will just as happily fall upon one another. Witness the Tutsi vs. Hutu nonsense from a while back.
Different Strokes for...different folks, I guess. Your point is valid, no denying that.
I understand completely the point you make, but for my part, I believe racism is simply a more focused aspect of tribalism, so I agree with you.
In thinking of it, Tribalism could have nothing at all to do with race.
But Racism, as a subcomponent of Tribalism, is always that.
Good line of thought. Since I have not given this aspect much thought, I am likely barking up the wrong tree here on my first pass...:)
The last program stipulates which teachers are exempt from the new seniority rules. The nation has an acute shortage of math and science teachers. People aren’t going into teaching those subjects for a myriad of reasons. You’d think they would protect highly qualified and scarce teachers in those subjects, but no, they focus on a handful of exemptions to “remedy the continuing effects of past discrimination.” Nothing about providing the kids a solid education in STEM.
This is a bit off topic, but It cracks me up that the leftists had to invent yet another word: “Excessing.” For well over a century, we just “fired” people. Then we invented all sorts of new euphemisms: First it “layoffs.” Then it was “RIF” (reduction in force). Then we used “downsizing.” Then came “redundancies.” Now it’s “excess” and “excessing.”
To the recipient, it doesn’t matter much if you are fired, layed-off, RIFed, downsized or excessed.
Good Gosh. The language there, “excessing”. Really. I had never heard that word before in that context.
You are spot on-nobody gives a hoot what they refer to it as, it is all the same result.
It is just what the Left does.
“I refer to it as tribalism.”
Great point.
Pampered westerners have forgotten that for most of human history we lived in small or large tribes.
That is our natural state—and of course tribes always thought they were the “best” tribe and the rest were ignorant and/or evil savages.
These are the Hades gates that are being opened—and they are very hard to close.
“It is just what the Left does.”
Yep. They loudly proclaim “NOT a recession” and “Best economy ever.” The new term for it is “gaslighting.”
THAT’S RACIST!!!!
Minneapolis teachers union got rid of racism huh Moe.
the ghettos trash has been coming to Minn for a very long time from Chicago and Detroit for the better welfare bennies, I saw it happening when i lived in northern MN in the 80’s and 90’s
