We know though polls taken in Ukraine. Ukrainians overwhelmingly wanted to be part of the EU not some Russian-Bananastan economic bloc.

The only polling I know of were the two ELECTIONS, the first in 2014 when the Neocons didn’t like the results and overthrew the country. The second in 2019 when Zelensky promised to make peace with Russia and respect the rights of Russian speakers.

Sometimes the side that starts the war isn’t the side that starts shooting first. This war was clearly started by NATO and The United States government.
It’s where the dates are but not long ago, before the fall of the USSR, Ukraine was the power center of the USSR.
So which Ukrainian President ran on a platform of joining the Russian economic bloc and not the EU? The 2014 Ukrainian election was won by pro-Russian Yanukovitch, who ran on a platform of Ukraine joining the EU, before reneging on his promise to the voters.
