And Russia has been funneling money to pro-Russian oligarchs to try to influence Ukraine. So what? Once again, both sides have tried to influence Ukraine. Problem for Russia is that Ukrainians want European standard of living, not Russian. That's why Putin invaded Ukraine, he realized that that Ukraine was joining the EU sooner or later and the only way to stop it is through conquest. As to moral high ground, Putin's invasion of neighboring Ukraine is indefensible. Period.
