Let's consider the following hypothetical scenario.
It's a sunny morning at Mar-a-Lago and Donald Trump is going through the morning papers as he sips a cup of coffee when Melania arrives with a ‘we need to talk' look across her face. Trump places the papers down and offers her his undivided attention.
Melania tells Trump that she after some serious contemplation over the past few days, she is sick of the hate and persecution from the media, government agencies, and depraved FBI agents rifling through her personal wardrobe.
She beseeches Trump not to run for president in 2024 for the sake of his young son and grandchildren. She also reminds him they deserve peace at this stage of their lives. She adds that she will support him if he strongly wants to run.
Later during the day, an emissary from the Biden administration arrives at Mar-a-Lago with a deal. The gist of the deal is, that if Trump stops telling the truth about them, they will stop telling lies about Trump and the thousand spurious probes will disappear.
Trump begins to seriously ponder the idea. He wonders if the vicious personal attacks and phony investigations are really worth it.
Trump knows he has a strong chance of winning in 2024. He knows he can drain the swamp. Unlike 2017, where he was compelled to rely on ‘experts’ for advice for key appointments, he has a clear idea of whom to appoint to implement the MAGA agenda.

As the article implies, Trump knows that the Democrats cannot be trusted, and any deal they might offer would simply be a trick.
The only way to begin to stop the Democrats from doing evil to the Trump family is to beat them in 2024. So that’s what he will do. Melania knows that too.

I don’t think the Democrats would keep their word. Its a scenario that presumes they have even that level of integrity, and they don’t. In fact, they can’t, their base is gone off the deep end on Trump and they cannot come back from that, they’re too stuck in.

But that's not the deal.
The deal is that if Trump gives up when he might have been the only person to save the country, he will go to his grave as one of the greatest cowards, quitters, and losers of all time (and Melania's epitaph won't be much better).
I don't think Trump can live with that.
He only has to lighten up like Reagan did in the debate when charged with being a warmonger. He had seen 4 wars. The rats are hurting the country the way Carter did. All trump has to do is get past the MSM. All the desperation on the left is in the process of being exposed.

Eh, I’m not sure what the point was to that hypothetical exercise, but the Left will continue to come after Trump (and his family) whether he runs or not. This is not just “politics as usual.” Things have changed, and they continue to change. I’m shocked that they haven’t killed him yet. I think their rational fear of a real January 6 keeps them from it. This cannot continue. When in the Course of human events...
Melania knows what communism and marxism does to a country. For Barron’s sake, she would want Donald to run and fight. I think she supports his running 1000%.
I think the KGB harassment only strengthens her resolve, but the KGB and the Dems (I repeat myself) are hoping she’ll throw in the towel.
Will the unfair attacks stop?
Emphatically not. The Democrats have with every passing presential race breached all standards of decorum. Bush, McCain, and Romney were destroyed.
The difference between Trump and his GOP predecessor is that he punched back often much harder than he received. This was the first time Republicans saw their candidate fight back, which caused the already strong bond to become unbreakable.
The war that the Democrats are waging is not against Trump, it is actually against the idea that someone dares to challenge them.
Irrespective of whom the GOP nominee is, there will always be nasty, personal, and vicious attacks. The GOP will always be called bigoted, insensitive, anachronistic, and anti-science. They also accuse the GOP nominees of treason. All challenges to their groupthink will be called Russian propaganda. The phony investigations will continue. If they can’t find dirt they’ll just invent dirt.
The Democrats are against freedom, choice, and democracy. The only way to stop their attacks is to never ever contest elections, accept defeat and always follow orders from the Democrats. Nod in agreement when they order lockdowns and vaccine mandates and submit to their Disinformation Governance Board and other draconian measures.

I think Melania and Donald are stronger than that. That scenario happened to Palin, but I don’t think it will here.
I think they are both smart enough to know that is EXACTLY the enemy’s goal in doing this. Trump knows it too. The harder they hit Trump the harder he hits back.
Trump is not a quitter and I don’t think Melania is either. I think these abuses steel their will to defeat these vile snakes.

Trump doesn't drink coffee or tea.
It would be completely understandable if Melania felt that way and made thoses remarks. Not many other people on earth could have withstood the searing hot hate and disrespect the Trumps received after 2016. If Donald Trump decided he too had gone through enough, that too would be understandable.
As fate flips a coin, we will just have to wait and see what happens. If Trump runs, wins and Melania prefers to stay in Florida, Im okay with that too. There isn’t just one way to serve as president.
