On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “At This Hour,” Assistant House Speaker Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA) responded to questions on whether the Inflation Reduction Act will lower prices in the near term by pointing to prescription drug provisions in the bill that don’t kick in for years and saying that “we’re already seeing gas starting to come down. The policies we’ve been working on are working.”
Host Kate Bolduan asked, “You’ve named this bill the Inflation Reduction Act, which is really just asking voters to hold you accountable to do just that. And the CBO says that the bill’s going to have a negligible effect on inflation this year and next. What’s your response to that?”

Last week $4.24 here in Ctrl MO. Yesterday $4.89
Rich, stupid, college-miseducated Whites.
One Phrase explains the price of gas coming down.
MidTerms
Just wait till that is over.
The Fed is still inflating the money supply.
I thought the Dem goal was to keep fuel prices high to “save the planet” from evil carbon?
Diesel hasn’t gone down..nor will Heating Oil this Winter (and Winter is forecast to be very cold this year)
Well the peons can always burn their furniture to keep warm....
Either a moron or a liar or both.
“I thought the Dem goal was to keep fuel prices high to “save the planet” from evil carbon?”
Yup—the Democrats can’t decide whether they want the masses to eat bugs to save the planet or “fight inflation” so folks can afford to eat back better.
They need to create a circular firing squad to resolve this issue!
“Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA) “
Sheesh.
Idiocracy.
Clueless or malevolent!

$4.00 instead of $5.00 is still awful. The MSM/Rats trying to spin this is a trap.
Just a little bit of legerdemain on the part of juggling the release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
But once it is gone, it is gone, and real market forces reassert themselves.
But much more important than the gasoline prices, watch the Diesel fuel prices. Remember that just about everything else you buy, has the price of Diesel fuel factored in there somewhere.
Diesel fuel has not fallen proportionately. The underlying driver of inflation is still there.
2 months ago I started driving less as I am retired
and $5 per gallon was an expense that was too
much unless I cut back by 1/3 of my driving.
The price coming down is not because Biden drew
down the SPR which he sold to China and maybe
it lowered China’s prices but not USA prices.
No Biden wants to force electric cars on us.
Liar and traitor.
The price of heating fuel is going to kill people.
If gas is starting to lessen, it sure isn’t in her office.
It was $1.69 here in Maine on March 31, 2020.
I wonder who was president then? Hmmm.....
They need to remake Gerry Ford’s WIN (Whip Inlfation Now) buttons. It would have the same effect, nothing.
I remember under obama, all supplies I ordered that were delivered to me incurred a $25 fuel surcharge fee. I was self employed and had no employees so my orders weren’t big but it was a flat fee on all orders. I started picking some things up while out and about fro some other reason, rearranged my schedule to fit that scenario so I could pick up from a few different places in that one trip.
I often delivered my finished product so when possible, I’d pick up supplies on the way there or back. I didn’t charge a separate fuel surcharge myself but did figure things into my estimates, including my own higher cost for fuel for business or personal. Gave myself a cost of living raise and cost of doing business basically.
Dems in office? Time to raise the prices by 20%.
