The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the nation should move away from restrictive measures such as quarantines and social distancing and focus on reducing severe disease from Covid-19.
In new guidelines released Thursday, the agency no longer recommends staying at least 6 feet away from other people to reduce the risk of exposure -- a shift from guidance that had been in place since the early days of the pandemic.
The shift is a sign of how much has changed since the beginning of the pandemic more than two years ago. Nearly the entire US population has at least some immunity through vaccination, previous infection or, in some cases, both.
"The current conditions of this pandemic are very different from those of the last two years," Greta Massetti, who leads the Field Epidemiology and Prevention Branch at the CDC, said Thursday.

@ 4 Yeah - I would have like to see ‘Operation Warp Speed’ or even mandates for open scientific debate on how to deal with Covid-19 rather than just “Mr. I am science and no questions allowed”.
That’s hilarious!
The update isn't a huge overhaul of the existing guidance, but it does represent an increasing focus on individuals making their own decisions about their level of risk and how they want to mitigate that risk, said Dr. Marcus Plescia, chief medical officer for the @ASTHO. pic.twitter.com/GDEd1twhzi— NPR (@NPR) August 11, 2022
Uh…um…wait…what???
Someone saying these things even a short time before the @CDCgov would have been a crackpot, selfish, Low-Information, dangerous, pseudo-science, anti-science zealot.
This behavior of destroying dissenters who read ahead faster than you do is simply evil. https://t.co/YCJNH5Kp3V— Eric Weinstein (@EricRWeinstein) August 11, 2022

So was the CDC wrong all along?
No , no one listens to them anymore , LOL

Would have gotten to this point faster if Biden had implemented Operation Warp Speed II for treatments, but instead even stepped in and tried to stop states from doing this themselves.
Covid never was a 'novel' or unfamilar disease re the immume system. That was a lie to justify the EUA of catastrophic experimental gene therapy 'shots'. Had Covid been unfamiliar to immune systems, the death rate would have been much higher.
Dr. Yeadon spoke about a researcher who tested SARS survivors from 2003 with SARS in 2021 and they still were immune. They then tested the SARS survivors with Covid-19 and the people were immune.
Dr. Martin has documented the patenting of portions of the Covid-19 virus and his work proves Covid-19 was never new and unfamiliar.
The CDC knew Covid-19 wasn't unfamiliar to immune systems, that we didn't need a vaccine, that Remdesivir causes organ failure, and it knew its Civud protocol had a very, very low survival rate at a time when Dr. Zelenko and McCullough were reporting 85% success rates with safe medications HCQ, or Ivermectin. The CDC knew all about it and lied.
So, will mask-wearing be completely eliminated?
The only place where its 100% is at hospitals, urgent cares, and some Dr offices.
The CDC… total clown show. It amazes me (saddens me, really) how many people actually listened to that collection of imbeciles. But as George Carlin said, “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”
If it was so dangerous and 6 feet was needed or else...then way did they allow nearly full flights? Sure, at some point many airlines left middle seats open on 3x3 aircraft, but even then you probably had 8 people in the magic 6 ft bubble.
Nope. From what I read several Colleges/Universities have re-instituted mask mandates. A lot were in Canada but still had couple in the US.
Why? What was their goal?
Clearing the decks for the monkeypox lockdowns?
Completely nonsensical, clueless nonsense, part and parcel for the obviously false information you have posted and pushed for years on end.
Your alternate reality you want to convince others exists is not reality.
Stop the nonsense. You are absolutely shameless.
You cannot impose the situation of August 2022 (which, I’ll grant this, this current situation we actually reached months ago if not up to a year after Delta fizzled out) and make it retroactive to December 2019 and apply the logic of “oh, look, this means the situation never was dangerous or of concern.” And that is exactly what some people are doing. Just see what I responded to above. “See, this shows this virus never existed.” Some people are actually going that far. All of our family and friends that we know that got deathly sick and (and some sadly are no longer with us) - that didn’t actually happen because of this new guidance issued this week. The people we know working in medical facilities, health departments, etc. who were exhausted and completely overwhelmed and demoralized from not only the workload but the increase in suffering and death they had to experience during the course of the alpha through delta variants - none of that actually happened in that period of time because of this guidance issued by the CDC this week. This the logic these people operate under.
The virus being new to our bodies and immune systems is indeed an “eradicated” issue - as the article states, virtually everyone has either had an infection, vaccine, or both - this is no longer a type of virus that will be unfamiliar to the body or immune system. As well as the fact the virus has mutated into much more contagious - but also far less deadly - forms, which nearly everyone in the country having been exposed to it at least once if not multiple times even if they didn’t even realize it - it is that ubiquitous at this point. The “risk assessment” has changed over time, yes, but the entire situation changed as well.

That's it? That's all you got? How is it your posts continue to get sillier and harder to understand as the Covid sham and the toxic 'vaccines' you've supported unravel?
In trying to be concise, I was unclear in my initial post. I was criticizing the following premise, which was essentially the argument being pushed by the left:
CDC guidance is based exclusively on science.
If we operate on this premise, then a step change in CDC guidance would imply that either the CDC was wrong about the science, or that the science itself was wrong. So my intent was to criticize this premise.
If CDC guidance were truly based only on science, the guidance would change constantly, based on the best scientific information available at the time (which of course changes constantly). The only step change in guidance would come only after the virus was eradicated.
