The majority of Americans would rather a national popular vote total decide presidential elections than the Electoral College vote totals, a survey from the think tank Pew Research Center has found.
The survey sampled more than 6,000 Americans, discovering that 63 percent would prefer presidential elections be decided by the national popular vote. Conversely, just 35 percent of respondents favored keeping “the current system, in which the candidate who wins the most votes in the Electoral College wins the election,” the survey found.

This "stat" alone proves that it should never be decided by a popular vote.

The wisest thing our forefathers did was the electoral college.
The unwisest was...and they noted it....was that the USSC had no check.

I knew this was going to happen once the politicians legalized drugs. Not only are the voters ignorant, now they’re going to be high too!

and every blue city that plays a major role in such a scenario is plagued by crime, murder and corruption. What a horrible choice that would be, the ‘popular vote’.

Come on, this makes perfect sense. And makes it so much easier to cheat on a national scale. Why California alone can find 4 or 5 million extra democrat ballots when they might be needed.

Same people who want popular vote to amend the Constitution. Doesn’t work that way, too bad. Go create your own country and make the rules to do that.
To: ChicagoConservative27
Tell them to amend the Constitution.
Wish them well with that endeavor.

It’s PEW. Throw the survey in the trash can......
To: ChicagoConservative27
More polls that don’t matter unless they change the Constitution. Maybe we should have a county electoral system in each state. Every governor would be an R....

The other 37% are cleaning their AR’s.

They want CA and NY to make the decision which means dems stay in power forever and ever

Most of that 63% probably comes from the deep blue urban areas. You could also probably find that many in that number would not be able to name the three branches of government, the number of congress members and senators, name their congressman/woman or Senator, or even be able to distinguish between a rifle and a shotgun.

Never happen.
You’d need an Amendment to change that, and to get an amendment you’d need the majority of states to go along with it. Why would most of the country want New York and California to make all the rules?
