Donald Trump Must Be The 2024 Republican Nominee
American Thinker ^ | 8/10/22 | Ted Noel

Posted on 08/10/2022 6:58:48 PM PDT by conservative98

I’ve written twice that Donald Trump should not be the next Republican nominee for President (here and here). I intended to write a counterpoint essay extolling Donald Trump as a devil’s advocate’s exercise. But with Inspector Javert Wray signing off on the raid at Trump’s Florida residence, no doubt enthusiastically approved by Grand Inquisitor Torquemada Garland, this has lost its academic flavor. Rather, I rise to praise Donald Trump as the necessary candidate for the Republican Party to oppose whatever infernal chimera Acheron will deliver up as The Donald’s hapless opponent.

In case you’re wondering, I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore. It’s time to bury the “Democrat” Party. And Donald Trump is the right undertaker. Let’s start with the justification (i.e., excuse) for the raid.

[cut]

...We don’t need Donald Trump to implement Schedule F. Ron DeSantis could do it just as easily. But there is one thing only Donald Trump can do.

Donald Trump’s re-election can restore faith in America. We’ve all seen how high-sounding words tossed off by the Left as if they mean something are simply sociopaths lying about their plans to create Gulag America. They have a two-tier justice system in which the privileged are given a pass for things that cause mere mortals to lose life and liberty. Many are rotting in solitary confinement without the benefit of trial for the simple act of walking into the Capitol building after police waved them in. The list of evil perversions of justice is too long for this missive.

Donald Trump’s re-election would say that the Left has lost in a way that no other candidate can say...

Donald Trump has a better chance of winning the election for president than anyone else.

As far as I'm concerned, Trump might as well be the nominee in 2024 because I'm voting for him even if he's not. If Donald J. Trump is not on the ballot in 2024, I'm writing his name in. After the events of Monday at Mar-A-Lago, I'll bet there are a staggering number of Americans who are of the same mind.

I'll take it one step further and suggest that this whole fiasco may end Ron DeSantis' presidential aspirations for good. That's because after yesterday, I will never vote for a presidential candidate who is either: (1) a lawyer, or (2) a "law enforcement" officer.

I'm dead serious about that last point. I'll vote for an arsonist or child molester for President before I ever vote for a lawyer, a retired police officer, or a former Federal agent.

I’ll vote for Trump a third time. I also want to see MAGA live on, untainted by rinos and neocons, long after Donald J. Trump has left office or passed away.

We have to stop voting for Bush League Republicans.

Democrats gave the Republican nomination to him last night. They may have wanted that anyway because they need to mobilize their base against Trump. They are not going to do that if DeSantis was running. People voted against Trump. Not for Biden. It may be a part of their strategy. Joe is an old guy. He goes to bed at 8 pm. No one is motivated by him. But he’s the perfect puppet. He’s brain dead.

For all we know, DeSantis could be on the ticket as VP. After a Trump 4, DeSantis for a possible 8 years.

Hell, after all we’ve endured with Biden and the demons in congress. We may be in power for two decades.

Beware of those who turn on a dime.

I did when Trump beat Cruz in Indiana. And it may sound crazy now, but his pick of Pence for VP cemented the deal because Pence's bona fides as a pro-lifer were unquestioned. Trump, to me had the right enemies, but donated to Ted Kennedy, seemed to have a shaky grasp of Federalism, and didn't seem to have an underlying skeleton to give his policy positions good form.

Then he got in, and started DOING things. Keeping promises. He dumped Title X funding for Planned Parenthood because he did it while the lefti3es were distracted with a half-dozen other items, so they couldn't unite as they did against Reagan. Brilliant. A man cannot be Chesty Puller and Cicero at the same time. Right now we need a Chesty Puller, and one that loves the America he grew up in.

I turned quickly and stayed turned. Give others the same opportunity. The author is incensed for the right reason.

He can do more good as governor of Florida. Trump would have to move from Florida, and he sure as hell ain't going back to NY.

Trump has no choice—he must run. Forces beyond his control are calling the shots. BUT a lot of things can happen in the next 3 months! War with Russia over Ukraine, War with China over Taiwan, war with Russia, China, North Korea and Iran

It’s just me, I’m very suspect of those who quickly reverse direction or change course. That’s from personal experience, but as you alluded to, it may not apply here. Who knows.

Cannot wait to vote for my favorite commander-in-Chief a third time.

Tonight, at a dinner, PDJT even touted a potential running mate.

I’m a private sector guy, who will be sticking with Trump in 2024.

Beware of those who turn on a dime.

I did when Trump came down the escalator in 2015 and gave his speech. The next day I said I was going from Cruz to Trump. Because the border was the key to everything and Trump was the only one was going to be able to do anything about it. Then I got called a bunch of names here and was told, "Then you're a liberal!"
