Eyewitnesses reported as many as 15 distinct explosions in Novofedorivka, Crimea, followed by a larger blast The explosions rocked a Russian held military airbase home to a variety of fighter jets and freight aircraft
Airbase is located 130 miles from nearest Ukrainian-held region and Ukraine has not accepted responsibility But a senior military source told the New York Times the explosions came as a result of a Ukrainian strike Russian defence ministry meanwhile is claiming the explosions came as a result of ammunition detonation Russian officials reported one person was killed and five people including one child were injured in the blasts
The deadly blasts rocked a military airbase in the region on Tuesday afternoon, causing an ominous mushroom cloud to soar into the sky, sending sunbathers running from nearby beaches.
As many as 15 distinct explosions were reported by eyewitnesses, according to various sources, over the course of a minute around 3:30pm local time.
Yet another blast was triggered around 30 minutes later, causing large plumes of thick black smoke to snake from the direction of the base in Novofedorivka, Western Crimea, which is located around 130 miles from the nearest Ukraine-controlled territory.
Russia's Defense Ministry denied the Saki base on the Black Sea had been shelled and said instead that munitions had blown up there.
Furthermore, Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of the Russian RT news channel, tweeted that the explosions were caused by 'sabotage'.
Nevertheless, Ukrainian social networks have been abuzz with speculation that it was hit by Ukrainian-fired long-range missiles.
One Ukrainian military official speaking on condition of anonymity told the New York Times that the nation's armed forces launched the attack.

‘This was an air base from which [Russian] planes regularly took off for attacks against our forces in the southern theatre,’ the official said, adding that ‘a device exclusively of Ukrainian manufacture was used’ to carry out the attack.
Iryna Vereshchuk, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, did post on Facebook, saying: ‘Today’s explosions in Novofedorivka are another reminder of who is Crimea. Because it is Ukraine.’
But an advisor to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy insisted Ukraine is not taking responsibility for the explosions.
Mykhailo Podolyak, asked by the Dozhd online television channel whether Kyiv was taking responsibility, replied: ‘Of course not. What do we have to do with this?’
The head of Crimea’s health department said five people, including one child - believed to be a 13-year-old boy -, were injured in the explosions, while Russian governor of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov announced one person was killed.
‘I express my most sincere condolences to the victim’s family and friends. All necessary assistance will be provided,’ he said via the Telegram messaging app.
Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine in 2014 and has occupied the territory ever since despite widespread condemnation from much of the international community.
If the airbase was in fact struck by the Ukrainians, it would mark the first known major attack on a Russian military site in Crimea since Putin’s forces invaded Ukraine on February 24.
Smoke rising after detonations of air munisions at the Saki airfield near the Novofedorovka settlement, Crimea
Lots of confusion here as to who set off these explosions.. One can only hope that the maximum number of Rus airplanes and munitions went up in smoke.

📹 300m away from the military airfield in Crimea. Seems like no chance that a single plane remained intact. The impact of the yesterday’s explosion is no less than the destruction of the cruiser Moskva. Dozens of warplanes will no longer be able to drop bombs and missiles on us

BREAKING:
Congratulations to 🇺🇦 for striking Crimea for the first time.
They hit something highly explosive at the Saki Airbase.
The secondary explosion could be seen from miles away.
Probably a Tochka-U strike as Saki is nearly 200 km from the front.

Satellite images of the Saky airfield in Crimea, made yesterday at 11.10 am, show that more than 30 planes and helicopters were there before the explosion - worth more than $1 billion in total.
It would take over 18 months to replace them even without the sanctions.
How can we miss you when you won’t go away?
You said you spend time on Ukraine threads to debunk “globalism”. Ha! You debunk video evidence with a pic of canned spam? You don’t debunk anything. You just cheer the eleven-time-zone country bullying the one-time-zone country. Ukraine fights way above its weight class and you hate them for it. I say glory to Ukraine! Death to the invaders!
How do you like your spam ?
More murderous-rage spam served with a slice of “I’m too scared to fight, so I’ll send kids to their deaths to defend a treasonous globalist puppet instead” hypocrisy.
Have you any shame ?
Nice try but I don’t discuss the movements of troops and supplies with Bolsheviks.
Ukrainian Wolverines strike again!
You’re pushing the Sorosbot globalist-leftist warmongering agenda and calling others who oppose it Communists ? Your hypocrisy keeps breaking new levels of hi-larity.
How is defending Ukraine against an invasion by Chenchens, Buryats, and Russians being Globalist? You side with globalist Hillary and her Russian Uranium deal. You side with globalist Obama and his promise of greater “flexibility” for Pedophile Putin’s Russia. Putin himself is a globalist when he stated “Russia knows no borders”. I call you a Bolshevik because you are a filthy stinking Bolshevik.
I know you think you know what that means It is obvious you dont
And precisely who’s children are being sent?
You’re a complete fool
Drunk posting never makes sense
Ukraine: a corrupt globalist child-sex trafficking state led by a treasonous puppet pushing the sodomite agenda in the middle of a “war.” That’s what you support. And you want us to go to war to protect this failed state and accuse those of wanting to stay out of it being Communist ?
You’re the crazies. When are you leaving to go to Ukraine to fight ?
And yet that didn't stop you from your three spam posts in a row.
