Leora Levy wins GOP primary for U.S. Senate (CT)
WFSB ^

Posted on 08/09/2022 8:29:54 PM PDT by matt04

Leora Levy won the Republican primary for U.S. Senate Tuesday.

Levy defeated her two Republican challengers Themis Klarides and Peter Lumaj.

...

Levy will take on take on Senator Richard Blumenthal in November.

Last week Levy, who is a Greenwich businesswoman, got the endorsement from former President Donald Trump.

... Today, voters across Connecticut sent a clear message that they are ready for a political outsider to fight for the families, taxpayers, small businesses and the hardworking people of our great state. Forty-year high inflation, record gas prices, failing energy policies, an invasion at our southern border, an assault on parental rights, and general lawlessness in our communities - these are the issues caused by Democrats’ out-of-touch policies, supported by Blumenthal every step of the way. Connecticut is ready for new leadership.

Tonight, we celebrate this victory from the Republican voters of Connecticut, and tomorrow we get to work to end the Blumenthal blight affecting all of us. I look forward to sharing my message of what a principled, common sense conservative outsider can do for Connecticut. I have lived an American Dream, and I want that for all Americans. I vow to always fight for the families of Connecticut.

This is great, the anti-2a RINO Klarides lost to the MAGA endorsed candidate with less than a weeks time from endorsement to election.

I would love a Trump rally in CT, just for the REEEEEEEsssss online.

This is MAGA country!

This is unpossible, just 2 years ago, Bidung got the hugest amount of votes in history by a large margin

Can she win in November? Doubt it. ‘24 perhaps if the country turns around.

good to see another Trump pick made it through, anything that upsets the worthless MSM and their Democrat Party is fine by me.

Uphill battle in CT...but if she has good fundraising, you never know in this political environment. It would be nice if Blumenthal actually had to defend the positions he has taken - and his speech honoring - and delivering an award to - a Communist Party organization.

I doubt it, too, but it is nice to see a pro-abort fake Republican get beat in the primary. To have a two party system, you need two parties that have a difference between them.

Good for her but I don’t have much optimism that we can Make Connecticut Great Again. Too many Rats down by the shoreline.

What makes you doubt it?

Concern trolling?

“..nice to see a pro-abort fake Republican get beat in the primary”

Given that the anti-abortion position lost overwhelmingly in Kansas, I doubt it would fare any better in Connecticut.

She's pro-life (and pro-2A), but that's not what she is running on.

She's highlighting secure borders, parental school-choice (and anti-CRT), runaway inflation and crime.

THAT'S what most Americans are concerned with - even in deep-blue Konnecticut.

For those who don’t know Connecticut, this is downright astounding. Typically the RINOs here field the weakest tea possible and then sulk when they lose.

Blumenthal is one of the most reprehensible, sordid people in DC these days, and that's saying something.

If this turns out to be a red wave election year, it would be fantastic to see Danang Dick get washed away.

I really hope this woman replaces Da Nang Dick, the most obnoxious senator the country has ever had.

She won’t win but we need the fight. It could help in other races as it would help nationalize the elections as the country turns more towards the right. Could she beat Murphy down the road-’24?
