Too bad they didn’t have “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow” as an option, Bill Clinton forever ruined that song for me.

This one needed an “all of the above” option. LOL

There was some pretty good music in the early 70s, but it wasn’t soft, bubble gum pop.

Steely Dan
Deep Purple
Long John Baldry
Neil Young (yes, he is an A Hole, but the music was good)
Steppenwolf
Savoy Brown
Allman Brothers
Blue Oyster Cult
Cactus
The Kinks
Doobie Brothers (pre-Michael McDonald)
ELP
The Faces
Bad Company
Guess Who (Road Food)
Hot Tuna
Humble Pie (RIP Steve Marriott)
Leo Kottke
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Led Zep
Rory Gallagher (RIP)
Ten Years After (RIP Alvin Lee)
Traffic
Wishbone Ash

It is noteworthy that many of these were from the 60s and still doing well into the early 70s. Musically I think of “the 60s” as running from about 1966 to 1974.

Not bad for a guy who would get a 100% if those songs were from the ‘30s. :)

Indeed!

My choices scored “74% similar to the most popular responses.”

So 3/4 of those tested share my good taste!

Yes, they’ve always been cringeworthy to me. Too theatrical...even for motown stuff.

Boy, that’s for sure! There weren’t many in the whole quiz that I actually liked. LOL!

Our high tomorrow is “supposed” to be 89. I’ll believe it when I feel it. Did you’re cold front come through yet? It’s pretty breezy here this evening. Feels good.

I was at 87% agreement, however....

Two questions didn't have a good response for me. In small doses, I liked all the Abba hits. Which Bee Gee had to go? Although I guess Barry and Maurice were a duet for a while in the early 70s while Robin was off on a snit, the Bee Gees aren't the Bee Gees without all three older brothers. I also regret only being able to vote down Bette Midler once.

That was depressing. I have fond memories of all three theme songs. I didn’t want to have to pick between Donny & Marie, The Carpenters, and Captain & Tennille (all three are on my play list).

I was irked that 55% could do without “Love Will Keep Us Together” as the Grammy Winner they could do without. Personally, I think that version is about as close as possible to the Platonic ideal of a Pop music record that exists.

Then, we are listed three Donna Summer songs, and NONE of them are MacArthur Park, which was done perfectly in the ‘60s. ?!

The ‘70s had real music in every genre. The country music was country. The Punk was Punk. The hard rock was hard rock. The Power Pop was Power Pop. The easy listening was easy listening. There was something for everyone.

I also regret only being able to vote down Bette Midler once.

I only know her for her aged mouth and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", which she both mimicked and added nothing to the Andrews Sisters version.

What can I say? I liked Captain and Tenille.

Good for you. See those live performances? She can play keyboards wright along with Dragon WHILE singing (Midnight Special video is good, and not a sync).

I only scored 45% Some people just don't understand the '70s.

Bette Midler has always impressed me as a poor performer and a poor human being.
