I think a Rat slipped in a classified document or two in a box of documents Trump was going to take home. This was a setup that they could pull off strategically before the midterms or General to do the maximum damage. If the document was found there would be no way for Trump to prove his innocence. Its the perfect setup.

It would not surprise me in the least if they slipped a Deep State Secret Service agent into President Trump's security detail. They are supposed to keep quiet about things, but the DS has a lot of money to throw around, or blackmail people or their families.
