The funding will be sent to the Ukraine government in tranches. It will start with a $3 billion transfer in August, the USAID stated. Earlier funding amounted to $1.3 billion in June followed by $1.7 billion in July, as per USAID’s statement.
The funds are to help the Ukrainian government to maintain its primary functions. These include social and financial assistance for the underprivileged population, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons, as the Russia-Ukraine war goes on.

I don’t have a problem picking up the welfare expenses.
But it’s just crazy that Moscow Joe is slow walking military aid.
There wouldn’t be as many welfare expenses if we gave Ukraine the proper tools to kick Russia out.
A big middle finger to Americans that had their lives badly damaged during covid, by government caused energy shortages, etc.
And of course we should use the frozen Russian reserves to pay for the welfare expenses.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a threat to all of Europe, including NATO countries. NATO has plenty of justification of getting involved despite Ukraine not being a member.
