It is not often that you see Democrats tear up over a message from former vice president Dick Cheney. However, his campaign ad for his eldest daughter, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) — part swan song, part defiance, part nostalgia — tells us more about the decrepit state of the GOP than any Democrat’s ad has this cycle.
“In our nation’s 246-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” he declares. Coming from a former vice president and defense secretary responsible for defending America against hostile nations and foreign terrorists, that’s quite a statement.
By contrast, Cheney says, his daughter Liz “is fearless.” And in a rebuke to the cringing careerists and Trump toadies, he declares, “There is nothing more important she will ever do than lead the effort to make sure Donald Trump is never again near the Oval Office, and she will succeed.”

Poor examples Lurker
USA didn’t exist when Cornwallis tried to stem the rebellion
CSA flag officers wanted to break off not conquer and subjugate
Tojo and Hitler or even Brezhnev better examples
Trump just wants to defeat the left
Not from ideology but common sense
And they wonder why we like Trump.
Trump says specific things he wants to accomplish and then actually sets out and accomplishes them.
Unheard of in politics.
I’m not impressed with “conservatives” per se. Even their name implies the tyranny of the status quo.
We need PATRIOTS who will do whatever it takes to put America first and restore our Free Constitutional Republic.
Dick Cheney should be in jail. He broke the law, Smith-Mundt act of 1948, when he and Bush used propaganda on the American public about Iraq. The law was ‘adjusted’ in 2013 in a bipartisan stealth move and signed by Obama so they could legally propagandize on our own soil.
The entire Jan. 6 fiasco is to cover the crimes of swamp rats like the Cheney’s, Bush’s, Obama’s and Bidens.
How did we come to inhabit a society in which the government itself continually carries out psyops against the populace including Donald Trump, the president?
Propaganda by the Biden Administration is LEGAL - Stealth 2013 law signed by Obama!

Oh, didn’t know that.
OK delete the word “dyke” from my post. The rest remains the same and is true and applicable to this guy.
Liz sure looks like a Lez IMO
didnt mention WY once
daddy “big dick” cheney did a 2024 prez ad for liz “little dick” cheney
Paul Ryan was expected to become the experienced “heroic” good-looking young guy for 2024, instead of the “stiff, old folk” Bob Dole or Bush I.
His betrayal in 2018 will not be forgotten.
Jebbifer Is still butt hurt that her heartthrob Yeb! did not get to be Designated Loser in 2016 as planned.
In the GOP and the democrat party there are people who will shill for the defense department and their vendors over either party’s issues. Adam Kinzinger is one. So is Duckworth. John McCain and Graham were more pro military than republican. They exist in both parties. Pete Buttigieg is probably one as well.
Often they have military backgrounds. Sometimes they have intelligence backgrounds. These are the most dangerous people in government and just as dangerous when they show up on the news shows. Liz Cheney is the worst of the worst. And they will try to save her if they can. They are the most dangerous swamp creatures. And their funding is endless. Its better to vote against these guys even if a democrat takes the seat for a few years. You will never be able to trust their votes when it counts.
Barry Soetoro belongs at the top of that list.
The WaPo should be every Repubs barometer of where you are politically.
It’s all about their 30 year bipartisan Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) and the threat Trump poses to it.
He did win, the Uniparty cheated him out to get the border open again.
You're disgusting.
Aside from not standing by Scooter Libby — a huge black mark — I’ve never had a beef with Richard Cheney. The whole family, Liz included, is smart, wealthy and well-connected, presumably inundated with the very best data and top-notch counsel.
In that poorly conceived ad, R Cheney looks like death warmed over. Even a good ad at this point would be far too late in coming. So ... What the heck?
Surely, at this point she is positioning herself for a post-GOP life. She is looking for a principled defeat so that she can exit the party and start fresh outside.
I see a think tank in her near future, not a talking head job for any of the networks. (She has huge family money and does not need the high pay.) And from that perch I think she may take a lead role in launching the new party that is recently announced. I imagine that her data and advisors are telling her what she wants to hear, which is that the political middle ground is big and presently underserved, while both left and right are irretrievably stuck.
For me, this is the only hypothesis consistent with her astonishingly odd and otherwise obviously and profoundly stupid behavior. If she fails, as I see as a near-certainty, she will help to cement the 2024 wipe out of the entire RINO/Never Trumper camp.
Yeah, in hindsight, it was indeed a blunder.
My theory is that he was in a situation where he felt out of his league and, against his better judgement, deferred to the [supposed] experts. At the time, they probably acted like they were on his side. I think, at his core, he knew better, but was afraid the Public would turn against him if they felt he looked uncaring or ineffective in fighting the pandemic.
It as a Damned-if-you-do, Damned-if-you-don’t situation.
Fixed it.
“Our republic” seems to mean “We neocon globalists”, so Cheney is just speaking his truth. /s
One suspects that the Hageman vote is more than a little motivated, and will line up early in queues to vote in person. The Hageman victory should be an historic landslide to oust a sitting rep.
Liz will do the Dem thing and blame everyone but herself, even though she so smugly and condescendingly spurned the clear will of the Citizens she allegedly represented.
