Interesting that the Villages Daily Sun Is growing and even on the list being such a small metro
Proves that the elderly are the ones still using print editions which we already knew
the corollary to this is that it also increases the focus on national news and "what the center is doing."
I have no love for the woke editors at our local newspaper, and I refuse to pay for it. But its also the only source of local news that exists in our city. the local TV news is completely useless.
Too bad newspapers are woke and they are all leftist. If they would appeal to the average American and try to appeal to both sides of the political debate then maybe they deserve to survive. But every graduate in journalism is a Leftist so what’s the point?
Wouldn’t have guessed #1 Wall Street Journal more than doubles #2 New York Times, the elites so love the Times.
Used to get the Washington Times weekly edition. Have considered getting the Epoch Times. Would be interested in a weekly edition of the New York Post.
Useless Hay for Pay
The Local variants aren't much more than a pay-per-click gloried High School yearbook.
Click on each individual picture of high school homecomings, musical, proms, and graduations.
No "gallery views"....ad revenue is generated "per click".
We take the WSJ weekend edition. $200 bucks a year but worth it to us.
Many of these circulation figures are still far from where they need to be / will eventually be (which is ZERO).
And it’s death will be from self inflicted wounds.
there was already an article here in our local rag with statements from one of our leftists senators that we NEED to support the written media and she insinuated that the govt should be more financially supportive of newspapers....you know, like we support the impartial PBS and NPR......
Mention should be made of The UK online papers which seem to always scoop the US publishers on almost all news reports originating in the US which are deliberately not covered by our own left wing media. Their coverage also seems to be far more comprehensive than the product put out by our own media.
Good graphic and interesting stats. It shows just how overblown the weight of some of these papers is. Many only reach 50k households. That’s size of a single modest size city. For the entire country.
WE still get Wednesday/Sunday Milwaukee Journal. $8.65 a month. Wednesday are the food Ads
Once the website for the largest NJ paper (Newark Star LEdger) closed comments sections in anticipation of installing Hillary in 2016, there was simply no reason to read it - it was clear they were bought and paid for by the elites, and would only proclaim their version of “news”. Some have changed their websites to paid subscription only (or limited some content to subscribers), but as I watch the price fall continuously I assume they are getting few takers. One went down to offering 90 days for a dollar; I doubt they’ll get it.
More like a one way street from what I see. I'd say none of us here on FR are insulated from leftist views but certainly the other side is. Who is being censored online these days?
For the most part solid unbiased investigative journalism has gone the way of the dinosaur and do-do bird.
The leftist rags that still exist print government and corporate handouts as if they were real news.
And Epoch Times......?
