Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the suspension of a state attorney on Thursday morning in news his team teased the night before.
DeSantis announced that Florida state attorney Andrew Warren would be suspended, effective immediately, for failing to enforce the state's laws dealing with crime and regulating abortion .
"Our government is a government of laws, not a government of men," DeSantis said. "We've seen across the country over the last few years individual prosecutors take it upon themselves to determine which laws they like and will enforce, and which laws they don't like and don't enforce."

He’s a lot more camera savvy than The Don.
In before the “Trump effect” bots…
Must have deflated those who thought he was going to announce a run for the presidency.
Desantis knows that you get things done by just doing it and talking about it later. This way the opposition has no time to stop you.
Thank you, Lord!!!!!
Me to! Wish he was my Governor!
He’s on Tucker now.
Glad he IS my Governor!
That’s the way ya do it…
I hear that a lot in my travels around other states. DeSantis is a star. Well done here again.
Not one person thought that
A “Soros-funded” public official. We used to call that bribery. I believe it is still illegal.
Actually, debate of who’s the better Republican representative for Pres in the next election is a fascinating one.
Personally I really like them both but would probably vote for DeSantis over Trump in a head to head matchup only because DeSantis has historically appointed more loyal subordinates for key positions, and secondly, he’s just a bit more constrained in response to challenges.
Regardless, I would be tickled with either.
Those of us supporting Ron DeSantis understand that he needs to win his gubernatorial re-election first before he can entertain any presidential run. To do so before would be needlessly stupid and DeSantis has so far shown himself to have excellent political timing.
There were many posts here yesterday expecting his big announcement would be a pledge that he's *NOT* going to run for president. Might want to check in on those folks.
If something should happen to Trump, then I think it’s understood that DeSantis will run.
Same here.
I would hope not, since they said before the announcement that it was not campaign related.
