And this is just one trial for (I think) one set of parents. There are another two trials coming soon, one of which he's already been found at-fault in. Could be hundreds of millions in liabilities.
Punitive damages are by their very nature and intent excessive, they should not exist in this country. There should only be monetary damages.
The sandy hook shooter, you know, the real criminal, and his family are products of their environment though, not really their fault. The guns made him do it.
