Conservatives and legal experts are warning that the ongoing show trial against Alex Jones is meant to set the precedent to shut down any opinions or commentary that counters establishment narratives.
Revolver News founder Darrin J. Beattie, constitutional lawyer Robert Barnes, lawyer Mike Cernovich, Human Events editor Jack Posobiec, and others all warned that the Texas defamation trial against Jones is the first legal salvo against free speech and dissenting views.
“Regime is thirsting for a precedent in Alex Jones case so no one can question official narratives on the internet again,” Beattie tweeted Wednesday.
“Alex Jones precedent means if you don’t accept the Vegas shooting explanation, then FBI agents can sue you because you’re calling them liars by implication,” Cernovich noted. “Conservative media doesn’t seem to care. They aren’t saying a word on the due process violations in Jones case.”
“The Alex Jones show trial is a preview of what the regime intends to do to anyone and everyone who doesn’t conform with The Narratives,” journalist Jordan Schachtel said.
“Alex Jones case is to use it as precedent to go after those who contest 2020 election & any other government disfavored ‘conspiracy minded’ folks, like everyone who challenged lockdowns, mandates, Covid origins, lies to get us into war,” Barnes pointed out after noting a juror asked the court if the lawsuit against Jones can “stop election deniers” in future cases.
In fact, the New York Times this week confirmed the alarming hypothesis, admitting that the establishment’s goal is to “send a signal to other conspiracy purveyors about the cost of online lies” using the legal system.

Since when has a civil lawsuit set a legal precedence as a matter of law?
Civil lawsuits don’t carry the burden of proof that a criminal trial does.
We are in a recession.
Oh, and VSS, WADS and NDA.
Back in the days of maximum silliness about Sandy Hook Jones and Infowars were the primary source on FR for the conspiracy nonsense. He found an eager audience in that one and kept on hammering that nail. He became the poster boy for the whole thing. By no means the sole source, but certainly the one profiting the most.
what a revoltin’ situation. Turns out Jones is a scoundrel. Perjury is perjury. He deserves his lumps.
in times past it could have been worse. In the colonial times this would have almost certainly resulted in an “affair of honor with multiple potential parties demanding justice
How about those who lied about Trump - Russia collusion and the GDP loss that caused with the stolen election and the socialists that profited?
Well I can’t say I paid much attention to Jones or the conspiracy theory. I did not really notice it talked much about on FR. Or at the least I didn’t bother to take the story seriously. Alex Jones has always struck me as being a bit gullible about seeing conspiracies that aren’t there. Kind of reminded me of the History Chamnel’s space alien shows.
The gullible ones are the ones who believe him. And Jones, well at least until now, was rich off of them.
Well the question becomes does he believe it, or just sell it. Kind of like the History Channel alien shows. That’s really where the found emails and texts come in, ones he said didn’t exist and didn’t happen. One little “sure it’s crap but do you see our click rate” changes the whole picture.
Absolute Bull shit AJ committed perjury on the stan d & got caugh!! He sent text messages to opposing counsel that he claimed did not exist hence the perjury accusations that the fool claimed that all the children killed at the Sandy hook atrocity were never their & were all “actors” did not help. He is getting the shitstorm he deserves!
Trump’s free to sue them too, but he will have a much harder time making a defamation case, since he is a public figure, so he would have to prove actual malice, while the families suing Jones are not public figures, so they don’t have that hurdle to pass.
How about parents suing the DOJ for labeling them as domestic terrorists for speaking out at school board meetings?
The DOJ has sovereign immunity, so that’s not likely to work.
I know that. But when they don't follow the law when dealing with citizens then the (hundreds of millions) citizens are not obliged to follow the law when dealing with them. They have completely forgotten who pays them.
You nailed it. Conservatives should not give this scoundrel cover.
The plaintiffs brought no evidence of any damages. They weren’t even aware of anything Alex Jones said until someone who they “don’t remember” showed them a short video. They claim that somebody shot at their house but did not file a police report and neighbors couldn’t corroborate their story. Remember this was suppose to be a trial for damages, yet they presented only evidence on the merits, Jones wasn’t allowed to defend himself on the merits, and by the plaintiffs own definition of “altered video”, being any video that is edited, every single piece of evidence the plaintiffs showed was “altered”
