Russian lawmakers have proposed extending a ban on the promotion of “non-traditional” sexual relationships to minors to include adults as well, a senior legislator said on Monday.
Russia’s existing “gay propaganda” law, passed in 2013, has been used to stop gay pride marches and detain gay rights activists.
Authorities say they are defending morality in the face of what they argue are un-Russian liberal values promoted by the West, but human rights activists say the law has been broadly applied to intimidate Russia’s LGBTQ community.
Under the proposed changes, any event or act regarded as an attempt to promote homosexuality could incur a fine.

Good to see at least ONE COUNTRY realizing that having gays running around flouting themselves was not good for societal cohesion.
Hopefully other countries will realize the same and straighten out their societies (I know, good luck!).

Zelensky said in his response published on the website for online petitions that the Ukrainian Family Code defines a family as the primary and basic unit of society. “A family consists of persons living together, sharing a life, and having mutual rights and obligations. According to the Ukrainian Constitution, a marriage is based on voluntary consent of a woman and a man,” he said.
The Ukrainian Constitution cannot be changed during martial law or a state of emergency, Zelensky said. “At the same time, the government has elaborated possible solutions to legalize a registered civil partnership in Ukraine in furtherance of the effort to endorse and observe human rights and freedoms,” he said.

Gays running around flouting themselves is not good for societal cohesion. It also is detrimental to the physical and mental health of the population at large and the gay community themselves.
Exactly what does the acceptance of gays and their perverted life style contribute to society? Monkeypox? STDs? HIV?
Why would any country compromise the health and safety of its citizens by pretending that sexual deviancy is a good thing?

From a demographic perspective, not a moralistic one, a country interested in maintaining a large military etc. would oppose behavior that adversely affects birthrate.
