The Senate voted on Wednesday to approve a resolution to ratify membership for Sweden and Finland in NATO, a historic vote aimed at strengthening the defense bloc amid Russia's war in Ukraine.

I am not supporting NATO, but if Russia quit invading countries, others might not seek to join NATO.

I don't think Russia can get any closer with China.

Just sayin'.

Russia has been an aggressor against Georgia in the past, and I don’t think they had the right to invade Ukraine even though the eastern parts are Russian-speaking, but Biden practically invited them in and that area has a messy history that we do best to just steer clear of. It’s a European problem and it should be Europeans who solve it. I guess I don’t care if Sweden and Finland join NATO if we leave. It’s been an unfair alliance for a long time. That’s just my 2 cents.

Given that NATO is getting its ass kicked in the proxy war in Ukraine, this insignificant development passes for a win.

If you don't realize we and NATO have been the aggressor in Ukraine since we fomented the Maidan revolution in 2014 and used Ukraine to threatened Russia and ethnic Russians in Ukraine, you don't know much about what has been going on.

“This is a needless provocation of Russia”.

That’s Kremlin nonsense you are spouting

Putin drove Finland and Sweden to requesting to join NATO.

Furthermore in 2008 Germany vetoed Georgia’s and Ukraine’s request to join NATO as “it might provoke Russia “.

2 weeks after that Russia invaded Georgia. 6 years later it grabbed Crimea and parts o the Donbas.

Putin pushed countries to join NATO

Kazan is a city in Russia.

Stop repeating Putin’s lies.

2014 was no coup. After about three months of protests and police violence against demonstrators, Ukrainian president Yanukovych fled the country to escape prosecution, was kicked out of his own party, and voted out of office, peacefully, by a majority of the democratically elected parliament, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The largest block of parliamentarians that voted him out were his own party members and former party members.
His cabinet resigned. The parliament appointed an interim government, and free and fair elections were held a few months later, despite a Russian invasion and ongoing war.

The initial protests had been caused by Yanukovych abandoning a trade deal due to Russian interference, aggravated by him ramming through unconstitutional authoritarian laws with the encouragement of the Russian president, and culminating in violence publicly endorsed by the Russians.

Guess who wants to blame it on the USA, with no evidence —> yup, Putin and his FSB/KGB.

Don’t repeat Putin’s nonsense

Kazan “NATO is getting its ass kicked in the proxy war in Ukraine, “

NATO isn’t even in the war.

Putin is getting his ass kicked in Ukraine by the Ukrainians.

After 6 months he has less than 20% of Ukrainian territory, and he started off controlling more than 10%.

One third of the Russian military is destroyed. Russia has run out of tanks and it has lost its black sea flag ship.

Your President for the past 22 years, Putin, iś getting his ass kicked
