TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan on Tuesday night despite threats from Beijing of serious consequences, becoming the highest-ranking American official to visit the self-ruled island claimed by China in 25 years.
Pelosi’s visit has triggered increased tension between China and the United States. China claims Taiwan as part of its territory, to be annexed by force if necessary, and views visits by foreign government officials as recognition of the island’s sovereignty.
China had warned of “resolute and strong measures” if Pelosi went ahead with the trip, but has given no details on what they might be. Speculation has centered on threatening military exercises and possible incursions by Chinese planes and ships into areas under Taiwanese control.

Nancy Pelosi has made herself the pivot and focal point of China-US-Taiwan relations. All this risk of conflict over her.
Supreme arrogance and narcissism? Is she poking Joe Biden in the eye? Preparation and PR for something in the future?
This is nothing more than a publicity stunt....with no gain by the USA or Taiwan.

She came off that plane in a pink pantsuit and white high heels, then had to walk a good distance across the tarmac to get to the terminal building. A sitting duck for any sniper, and a bright target in her pink suit. Everyone around her dressed in black. The tarmac area was dark too but she stood out, highly visible. I don’t get it, it appeared to be an egregious lapse of security.
The whole trip, I don’t get it at all. Speaker of the House is not involved in foreign policy. Above her pay grade.

So what? If the Chinese want to assassinate the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, thus effectively declaring war on the United States, they have any number of ways of doing so. Her hotel is well known for example - I'm sure they could hit it with a missile if they wanted to. But if they did that, that would be war.

And like No.2 isn't at the ready. I don't consider it a big deal...especially after our exit from Afghanistan.
Now imagine the entire show that is unfolding is staged to make the democrats look strong for the midterms. And possibly other reasons as well. I do know that the deep state prides itself in how easy it is to manipulate the masses. China and the democrats(and Rino’s) always work together.
For what other reason would any of this make sense.
