This will be an interesting experiment that we all on the mainland can watch.
The lights go out?....................
We stop caring?
Around Detroit I’ve seen 2 coal power plants abandoned, seems a lousy economic decision leading to higher energy costs.
Hawaii will take one step closer to living in the Utopia they so desire. I hope they enjoy the misery they are about to receive.
Have reached the point where couldn’t care less what happens to this Democratic run island or the voters that ruined it.
Things are already expensive there. This is just adding fuel to the fire, so to speak. They in a heap full of .....
This island will be the new getaway for the elite. No one else will be able to afford it.
Since it’s a rabid lib state.... personally I can’t wait to see what happens
Just 13% Meh, plant some windmills on the windward side of the islands to make it up. I mean it’s way out in the Pacific so it’s not like they would screw with anyone’s “view shed”. We can watch the grand experiment but you know it won’t alter “their” plans. The envirowankers appear to be unaware just how much of their existence relies on by products from petroleum and it’s by products. Do they consider which scenario is worse if a coal transport breaks up and sinks or an oil tanker breaks up and sinks. Unlikely but it could happen. Typhoon Asskicker comes along and....... 😵💫🐂💩
Hawaii is an interesting place.
There are no native Hawaiians.
Tahitians migrated to Hawaii.
These Tahitians like American money, but they don’t like Americans.
I would be fine with sending the Tahitians back to Tahiti where they can worship rocks and shake feathers at their sick.
How are the hospitals and in-home medical needs going to be met?
Islands Trying To Use 100% Green Energy Failed, Went Back To Diesel
The islands of Tasmania and El Hierro tried to power their economies with 100 percent green energy, but both islands eventually went back to diesel generators after suffering reliability problems and soaring energy costs.
These islands may be on opposite sides of the Earth, but they became poster children for environmentalists campaigning for countries to ditch fossil fuels. The fact remains that Tasmania and El Hierro saw their energy sectors become costly failures after going green, according to the free market Institute for Energy Research (IER) published Thursday.

Well at least it’s a planned shut down with an available alternate energy source in mine.
It’s not like they pulled a Biden and just shut down pipelines with no replacement energy plans in place.
15,000 tons of Indonesian coal isn’t going to go very far.
> This will be an interesting experiment that we all on the mainland can watch. <
And when things fall apart, average folks will suffer. But the lesson will be ignored. We saw that with Sri Lanka’s failed experiment with ”green” farming.
Full speed ahead with the Green Revolution anyway.
we have to end “fossil fuels”
what will be the replacement
they are working on it
they promise the jetsons but deliver the flintstones
Hawaii, and the deep south of the US, has an advantage that the majority of other states do not have.
For one thing ..I’ve never heard of anyone freezing to death in Hawaii.
Also,they have a longer growing season..all year?
Good progress on fighting global warming.
Next they need to cap those volcanos.
So they’re using almost 70% OIL based plants and moving away from much cheaper coal. Where in any world but kill all American economies does this make sense?
