As a heat wave continues across the country, doctors and firefighters are warning parents and caregivers about children falling from windows. Between 3,500 and 5,000 children, usually between 2 and 5 years old, fall from windows annually in the United States.

Famously, Eric Clapton’s 4 year old boy fell to his death from a 53rd story NYC building’s window in 1991. I can’t imagine the pain and guilt parents would feel.
We need to put bars on all windows to protect the children.

My younger sister had a kitten that fell out of a fourth-floor window onto a lawn, at least two different times. Didn’t seem to bother it a bit.
