Is this Irish bank collapsing also? At least 2 banks in China are collapsing as well as they lock down all depositor funds and protests escalate.

These ideas targeting urbanites are applied to the general population as a whole, and are exposed to completely impractical (to say nothing of the privacy issues they raise). Eliminating private vehicles and houses are part of that model; take what works/may be acceptable in unfree hives and apply it to the larger population.
You were educated by the bank as to the proper for transacting a third party draft made to cash. You took offense but received the money after enlightment and following the proper procedure.
The endorsement must be the same as the payee and you could not endorse as Cash
Accepting a check drawn to cash by a third party was not a proper transaction to begin with.

A friend wrote a check, made out to me, on his local Bank of America checking account.
I walked into that Bank of America to cash it. They wanted to charge me $7.50 to cash it.
I shut up and walked out. Took it to my Credit Union - no problem.
We keep a WF acct but only use it for ATM withdrawals. Decades ago, it started as a First Union National Bank acct, then a Wachovia act, and now a WF acct. It tickles me because it’s a “no cost” acct as long as we maintain a very small minimum amount in the savings side. The no cost part was grandfathered in from the original FUNB acct. We keep this acct because of the wide WF ATM network, and it costs us nothing to use except for the lost investment potential of the very small minimum balance and the few grand that floats in the checking acct for withdrawals. My SS check is deposited in the WF acct. If it gets to be too much, I roll it over to our credit union acct.
99.9% of our actual checking is done thru our state employee credit union...which costs us $1.00/month.
I hate WF...but love sticking it to them.

WF closing its bank in my town on Oct 5. In that time I need to contact ss and my pension to change direct deposit accounts. Also have financial advisor through WF. I may keep it intacted although it Wii required that I travel some distance to deal with transactions.

I also like to use cash when I can. Whenever I go out to eat with friends, I am the only one who pays cash. Most don’t even carry cash anymore.
Just proves we need a centralized digital currency controlled by central banks.... It’s for your own good.

I need to check that with our credit union. That could be a possibility with them. It’s the SECU in NC. Great organization...just not a lot of branches where we need them, so I do very few ATM withdrawals with the credit union card.
