Russia is struggling with Ukraine and would not come close to standing a chance against NATO and the United States if it attacks us.
——-
Russia has not even mobilized yet, and the NATO countries are prematurely blowing their wad gifting the Ukies arms and ammo. Without NG and energy, the EU’s manufacturing is shutting down. Where have you been?

Yep. Putin killed the golden goose. As I said there will be eu pain, but eventually it will be Russias pain. “Christian” Russia can go eat its new churches when they start to reap what they have sown. And yes I do blame the Russian people as they apparently support Putins actions. But europe will go on as it always has.

Putin putting Europe into the deep freeze will sober them up about how dangerous Greenie policies are. Putin is doing Europe a favor. Coal and nukes being too dirty for Greenies, is a large part of the reason Germany got hooked on Putin's gas pipelines. In addition to German hacks getting paid off by Russia one way or another. Like evil rat Gerhard Schröder. Yorkshire UK has lands that can be fracked. How come fracking is banned in the UK? Because of Greenie fantasies.

Freezing this winter will destroy many peoples fantasies over there.

New LNG terminals? Europe can more easily import oil. Use this oil where natural gas was used previously. Perhaps Europe needs to build more oil refineries.

Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are also buying more HIMARS, but Poland is going to manufacture a lot of the components and rockets domestically, as part of their deal.

https://www.thedefensepost.com/2022/06/07/poland-himars-us/ :

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak has announced that the country will acquire 500 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS)... Poland-based factories will reportedly produce some significant components of the system to ensure a “high level of Polonization.”... technology transfer for the production of HIMARS’ local components would go into a Polish domestic effort called HOMAR... Additionally, the defense ministry announced in April that it had ordered Abrams tanks and other heavy US battle vehicles for $4.74 billion.

CNN, 28 July 2022: "Poland is buying almost 1,000 tanks, more than 600 pieces of artillery and dozens of fighter jets from South Korea, in part to replace equipment donated to Ukraine to help Kyiv fight the Russian invasion, the Polish Ministry of Defense told CNN on Tuesday.

The agreement, expected to be officially announced in Poland on Wednesday, will see Warsaw purchase 980 tanks based on the South Korean K2 model, 648 self-propelled K9 armored howitzers, and 48 FA-50 fighter jets, the ministry said. It would not confirm the value of the deal.

The first 180 K2 tanks, made by Hyundai Rotem and equipped with auto-loading 120mm guns, are expected to arrive this year, with the production of 800 upgraded tanks starting in 2026 in Poland, according to the ministry.

The first 48 K9 howitzers, made by Hanwha Defense, are also expected to arrive this year, with delivery of a second batch of 600 due to start in 2024. From 2025 these will be produced in Poland, the ministry said...

“The K9 (howitzer)… is probably the best artillery system in the world, rivaled only by the German system."

Putin did that!

"Russia has not even mobilized yet"

The West has not mobilized either - because it won't have to.

Russia's GDP is less than that of Italy, and Russia's GDP is more dependent on oil and gas than is that of Saudi Arabia.

Give them another year or two to burn through the rest of the gear and ammo they inherited from the Soviet Union, and they are going to be a much poorer and weaker country - another North Korea at China's beck and call.

Putin did that!

“New LNG terminals? Europe can more easily import oil.”

Europe had been importing most of its Russian oil by tanker ship, so the infrastructure doesn’t need much change - just dock tankers from other providers instead. Only about 10% of their oil came by pipeline, concentrated in a few countries, like Hungary.

They have been making efforts to use alternative fuels where they can, like increasing coal for electrical generation.

There is a big job required to build out the infrastructure, and arrange for delivery, of enough natural gas to replace what they got from Russia. Many other suppliers need financing and technical assistance from Western oil majors to increase their capacity. More ships have to be built.

They plan to have replaced 2/3rds of pre-war Russian gas imports by the end of this year, and are ahead of schedule due to Russian shutoffs and slowdowns.

Around the middle of 2024, the pressure should relax on spot prices, as lots of new productive capacity is coming online from multiple diverse sources that are currently being funded, and only a few smaller or niche markets remain using any Russian gas (like Hungary). The last BTU’s worth of Russian gas is scheduled to be shut of in 2026.

Russian auto production down 97%, this year.

Replaced by tank production, BMP production, etc.

We will need a brief meme.

I like this one...

If you are literally freezing to death, if your industry shuts down from lack of gas, causing a great depression, “biting a bullet” won’t help, any more than that cave diver trying to hold his breath to the end of the cave instead of getting new air bottles.

I remember when we had a natural gas shortage in the cold winter of 1976/77 when I was in 4th grade. Of course, it was caused by a different problem where they could not get gas from New Orleans piped north due to extreme cold. I remember school was closed two weeks or more and President Carter was talking about a four day work week. I remember Mom being home several days too.

I don't know what to think about all of this. Putin is a very bad man, his only good side is where he tells the New World Order to go stuff it, but I think he did wrong by invading Ukraine, you just don't pick fights unless they are a threat and Ukraine is no threat to Russia. I'm dubious of the Ukraine government. I support the people of Ukraine fighting back and would support them as much as I can without slitting our throats. I find it hypocritical where they are arming Ukraine but want gun control. Support is fine but not to the point of risking WWIII.

Europe is paying heaps because of this green economy crapola. The New World Order will lose in the long run and sanity will prevail but I don't know when and how although it will start when people, local/regional governments and States just tell them to "go fly s kite."

I think we wasted a lot of time and chances to get Russia closer to us in the 1990's and early 2000's and instead waste time, money and pushing people around with this New World Order tripe. The Emperor has no clothes on.

I guess if I was an European nation and wanted Russia to turn the gas on, if I really wanted to be a jagoff (I'm from Pittsburgh), I use my country's presses and make counterfeit Roubles and buy it that way. I dunno how it would work though, but Europe really painted themselves into the corner with all this green crapola and frankly, they overplayed their hand.

“They have openly threatened NATO with nuclear attack.”

That is standard bluster; we tried to install a NATO puppet in Ukraine (in fact, not theory).
