Russia's Gazprom says it has stopped gas supplies to Latvia
Deutsche Welle ^

Posted on 07/30/2022 3:40:43 AM PDT by FarCenter

Russian gas producer Gazprom said on Saturday it had stopped supplying gas to EU member state Latvia, accusing it of violating conditions for gas withdrawal.

"Today, Gazprom suspended its gas supplies to Latvia... due to violations of the conditions" of purchase, the company said on Telegram. It was not specified which withdrawal condition had been violated.

The move comes a day after Latvian energy firm Latvijas Gaze said it was buying gas from Russia and paying in euros rather than in rubles.

In March Russian President Vladimir Putin said countries deemed unfriendly to Moscow would have to pay for gas deliveries in rubles. This was in response to a freeze on Russia's assets by foreign nations.

Russia has cut off gas supplies to Poland, Bulgaria, Finland, Netherlands and Denmark for refusing to comply with demands for payments in rubles.

The EU has faced criticism over the continued purchase of gas from Russia with concern the money raised is continuing to fund the war in Ukraine.

On Friday EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell told DW that cutting dependence on Russian energy was not something that could be achieved overnight.

Like running a train at full speed toward a chasm where there used to be a bridge, hoping the new one will be complete in time for a safe passage.

This literally was the West's energy plan, and the "unforeseen" result.

Henry Hub and TTF are futures. They are available at a range of different delivery times, for different prices.

You can look at current contract prices for different delivery dates, and see how long market insiders expect the supply disruptions - into 2024, to replace Russian supplies into Europe. Then the work of decades to build European market share will be completely destroyed. The great bulk will be done this Winter. Indeed, a great bulk has been done already, with the many new contracts already signed.

Putin did that! He is a master strategist, who holds all cards and is ten feet tall - even without his elevator shoes.

Russia is so screwed.

Do your bosses Jake Sullivan and Antony Blinken know that you’re working on a Saturday?

I like it. Further news:

https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/rhine-levels-germany-forecast-drop-lower-barges-reduce-cargo

Germany begins to enter very, very tough times, Rhine River drying up, don’t laugh to hard, our own “ problems” with food production and the current drought threatens our food supply. I guess we can start buying food from Vlad- my oh my, how the tables have turned.

I smell a glorious revival heading our way….the bad part is in Biblical history, revival always came when a nation was brought to their knees…..pray for revival, the only thing that can save us. Stay tuned.

Are you Sherlock?

I usually just randomly post stuff without knowing what it is.

Or, I post stuff after I research it and find out what it is.

One of those two.

Russia is so screwed.

Glad to see your dotgov bosses took you off The Covid Project.

Are they gonna fire that back up for the "elections" this fall? Any word on that?  winking face face with tears of

That Rhine thingee is gonna leave a mark.

Instead of spending money on climate change, adults would spend money on water solutions.

Including planning that focuses on not using water like entitled Californians [this includes the situation in the states that have attracted entitled Californians].

You still danced away from the question of price, like Astaire on meth.

Price is temporary. They are bidding up near term deliveries to Europe, for this Winter. They are willing to pay more, to not give Russia the business, because of the horrific and disgraceful atrocities of Russia in the Ukraine.

The volumes are going away from Russia permanently ( or until a new Government makes amends)

This European/American/NATO wake up call is one of the great benefits of Ukraine’s shockingly effective resistance to Russia’s invasion.

NATO is strengthening itself, especially the old Russian slave states, and European conservative politicians have much to work with in regards to the energy issues and military spending.

Yep, the Rhine is too low for barge traffic. That bulk commercial traffic cannot just switch to RR or trucks.

Poland is buying 500 HIMARS, and hundreds of Korean tanks. They are shaping up to become a significant regional Military power. The Ukraine is likely to be one as well, after this experience.

Not many picked up on my “Russia has…….” , especially the WATER part, mentioned it back when brain dead Biden’s sanctions were declared. Guess what we are beginning to lack? Water, the severe drought in the West has been moving east…..

So let’s pick up, Russia has food ( mostly pork, they never had our beef addiction), fish, ( most everyone in Moscow when I was there had a Dacha, where they grew fresh vegetables), gasoline, diesel, propane, natural gas, plenty of coal, plenty of energy, ….wood, plastics, arms propellant ( derived from petroleum) metal, oh, two the prime ingredients for artillery shells, beginning to get the picture?

Okay, let’s switch to what they do NOT have, KFC, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Arby’s….Apple computers, Cadillacs, houses on huge mortgages ( they save up), no more needs to be said.

Sorry folks, Senile Joe got us into a fight ill equipped, unprepared, and ill advised- he took the US and West armed with a knife to a gunfight, Bless his corrupted soul…….and Vlad says checkmate, again, again, and again.

NATO is a paper tiger, unable to replace any arms, men, and weapons lost in the first three days of conflict. Germany’s armored vehicles are at a 25 percent readiness state, and with their manufacturing shutting down, no ramping up production for years. Just ask any US military man who has participated in joint exercises with them.

If/ when hostilities erupt, NATO has three days to a week before they are depleted of equipment and ammo, when they blow their wad, they had better aim well, there will be no quick re-supply.

Very funny, do you have any idea how long Lockheed stated it would take to replace the Stingers and Javelins we gave to Ukraine? Three years. With the metals and supply shortages Lockheed is experiencing ( I know intimately) my guess for 500 Himars ( the chassis are the easy part- the rockets the hard part) would be about 5-7 years …..Ukraine will be carved up and new borders instated long before they receive any Himars , we have to try to replace ours first.
…and yes, I am VERY familiar with our aerospace and Defense industry.

Russia is struggling with Ukraine and would not come close to standing a chance against NATO and the United States if it attacks us.
