The House passed an assault weapons ban Friday evening looking to give Democrats a last-minute win on their way out the door for August recess.
Five Democrats voted against the measure - Reps. Kurt Schrader, Ore., Vicente Gonzalez, Texas, Rep. Jared Golden, Maine and Rep. Ron Kind, R-Wisc.
Two Republicans voted for the measure - Reps. Chris Jacobs, N.Y., and Brian Fitzpatrick, Pa.
The ban cleared a procedural hurdle that allowed the House to move forward with expedited debate on Friday afternoon, with a final vote expected to follow. Three Democrats - Reps. Vicente Gonzalez, Texas, Jared Golden, Maine, and Kurt Schrader, Ore., voted 'no' with all Republicans, but the resolution passed 217 -211.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi meanwhile broke out a floor sign advertising AR-15s for children as she urged members to vote in favor of the ban.
'JR 15: Get 'em one like yours,' the ad reads, along with a photo of a child-sized AR-15.
'Our goal was to develop a shooting platform that was not only sized correctly, and safe, but also looks, feels and operates just like mom and dad's gun,' the ad continues.
The weapons manufacturer Wee 1 Tactics unveiled the 'JR-15' in January.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., expressed support for the child's semi-automatic weapon on Twitter.

The Democrats have been making the gun business a fortune for decades. Now the panic buying will start again, just when things started to recede back to normal.
In 2016, i went to a outdoors store in Smyrna, Ga and was talking to one of. the guys behind the counter about the panic buying. He told me a customer purchased an entire pallet of Green Tip, since PIAPS was running and the world thought she was going to win. Paid $25,000 and had to show up with one of those hydraulic trailers.

Besides whining, what’s yours?
There are 5 other conservatives on the USSC. They recently ruled on a gun case that codified their opinion about the second amendment. I’m not worried yet because it does no good to get all worked up. All we can do is let our reps know how they should vote if they want our support in the future. We can also work on our local officials to make sure we have state gun laws that negate federal ones. But first it has to get past the Senate and that requires 60 votes.
Why do you trust Roberts with any case?

The original bill from the committee did ban possession, and if you understood the incrementalism the liberals use to get their way, while negotiating with the Senate they will no doubt remove the grandfather clause.
