TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — The Oklahoma State Board of Education voted to demote Tulsa Public Schools after violating HB 1775, which bans the teaching of critical race theory in Oklahoma.
In a 4-2 vote, the board lowered TPS to "accreditation with warning," a more serious penalty than the recommended "accreditation with deficiency."
Gov. Stitt expressed concern about the violation of the law in early July.
That concern stems from a complaint sent to the Department of Education by a teacher from Memorial High School who had to take some mandatory courses, which she said, "includes statements that specifically shame white people for past offenses in history, and state that all are implicitly racially biased by nature.”
"How can one teacher's feelings of guilt or shame detract from the quality of an entire district school education program?" said board member Carlisha Bradley, who voted against the demotion. "I do not agree."
State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister also voted no.
One board member, Trent Smith, was absent from the vote.
According to the standards for accreditation of Oklahoma schools, "accreditation with warning" means that a school site “fails to meet one or more of the standards and the deficiency seriously detracts from the quality of the school’s educational program.”
Rep. Regina Goodwin said she has spent weeks trying to get to the bottom of the story and has called for transparency.
If a school is on warning, the school board and administration will have to meet with representatives from the accreditation section to review their status. After that, the accreditation section will give a recommendation to the State Board of Education.
This vote comes on the heels of another controversy in the district about graphic novels in school libraries.
NewsChannel 8 has reached out to TPS several times to request an interview with Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist. So far, the district has not responded.
they really will be retards if they don’t get school funds for violating the rules about CRT and as a result become even less capable of teaching than they already are- All the ‘smarter’ teachers will move away and leave the nothing but bottom of the barrel there- The kids will definitely suffer even more than they already are under the socialist ‘teaching’ there- and pretty soon the whole area will be filled with morons lol

What an enterprising state attorney general needs to do, is
make surprise raids on schools. Yank their books and start
filing charges for what is taking place.
Sex changes? Desensitizing kids to sexual exploitation?
Put a schools staff in prison for 10-20.
Get it on the record. We as a nation aren’t putting up
with that s—t.

The cancer continues to metastasize. Sh## rolls down hill and even though many issues may be fixed at a higher level the local demons are still at work with their mandates, white privilege, racism, equality, inclusiveness and diversity bullsh##
Indict, try, convict, and sentence the Tulsa Public School board and administrators to prison for breaking the law. And perp-walk them in chains to the prison.
This just shows how DIFFICULT it is to root-out this crap from public schools, even when the public demands it.
But there are EASY ANSWERS, but it takes balls on the part of politicians.
One easy answer is to simply FIRE everyone with ‘Education’ and related useless degrees. Just fire them.
This country has something like 80 million retired people, so there’s a HUGE POOL of people with which to replace them. Plus there are many others who can EASILY teach and would take a job with the type of schedule that schools offer.
Do what Reagan did with the Air Traffic Controllers...that simple.
You do know what Tulsa spells backwards right.
This is a clear example deeply rooted racism; the vile belief that race -- rather than values -- determines behavior.
