Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk spoke with Breitbart News Daily host Alex Marlow on Thursday, where he explained why college is a scam. “These are hedge funds with schools attached. These are not colleges,” Kirk affirmed.
“I think the de-stigmatization of people that don’t go to college is necessary,” Kirk told Marlow, before offering a few statistics that he reveals in his newly released book, The College Scam.
The Turning Point USA founder explained that “forty percent of people that enter a four-year college drop out,” which means that “only 60 percent of people that actually enroll will end up graduating.”
“If any other business operated that way, it would be closed down as a scam,” he said.
Kirk added that on top of the 40 percent chance of dropping out, among those who do graduate and get a job, another 40 percent will end up getting a job that does not require a college degree. Moreover, another 25 percent will actually get a job in the field in which they studied.
“Just to put this into concrete numbers, there’s about 23 million college students in America right now,” Kirk said. “Only about 4.5 to 5 million out of that 23 million will end up graduating, getting a job in a field in which they studied, and getting a job that actually requires a college degree.”
“And if that’s not already bad enough, these universities are raising tuition every single year, and if you combine Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, and the top endowments of the top ten schools, they have a combined, tax-free endowment assets of over $230 billion,” he added.
“These are hedge funds with schools attached. These are not colleges,” Kirk affirmed.

I didn’t know university endowments are tax free.
“I didn’t know university endowments are tax free.”
They are legally considered charities (despite charging say $58,000 per year in tuition).
“I think the de-stigmatization of people that don’t go to college is necessary,”
My neighbor the roofing contractor makes about $400,000/year.
I always wanted to own a college. What other business allows you to charge thousands of customers $60K a year for 4 years, screwup their and promise them nothing?
They have indirectly proven the worthless degree theory. Lesbian underwater basket weaving and such.
As one who respects the old school humanities (where scholarship was expected), I’d strongly suggest that no one pay for a university education in anything but STEM subjects. And be careful - smaller colleges will bastardize (e.g., leftize) even STEM courses in order to get dull students - you know, the Gore/Biden/Dorkbama/media level types) paying money for token grades. Imagine one of those clowns spelling calculus correctly, let alone passing the first small quiz.
Harvard for example, 53 billion endowment, tax-free status.,, for 20,000 students. That’s a permanent endowment of 2.6 million per student.
Total fraud.
“Imagine one of those clowns spelling calculus correctly, “
Priceless !
Why are rational human beings still flushing their money down the “ university “ commode ?
Charlie Kirk is a grifter with a MAGA hat attached.
Now throw on top of that a lot of those students won't get paid enough to justify the cost of going to college to get their degree.
And most of the value of college is from signaling: students learn little from college, but attending college signals to employers that someone is reasonably intelligent, disciplined, and conformist. If we stopped subsidizing college, employers would have to use other ( and cheaper) means to find such people. And we could all stop pretending that college students actually care about literature or history.
For decades, most universities/colleges give out IUDs aka Instant Unemployment Degrees.
Now, these Woke colleges are “graduating” dangerous and hostile scumbags. These rectums hate America and good people, who work for a living.
Hiring any of these rectums will be a disaster.
Well they aren’t places of higher learning anymore, that’s for sure.
“Why are rational human beings still flushing their money down the “ university “ commode ?”
1. Credentials—they are required for many professions.
2. Networking—this is very helpful in getting good jobs. In many professions it is more important than skills and intelligence.
What we need are other ways of providing young people with credentials and networks—and then we can send the universities in the dustbin of history.
It’s why my daughter went to a state university for both her bachelors and her masters
But then she got degrees for a real job. She’s a very happy NP
Because some jobs require such education…..eg nursing
Indeed he is
I learned lots from college. Glad I went
But I worked my way through and went to a state university not some expensive elite school
