My guess is that Manchin has decided not to run for re-election in 2024. The only way he could hope to get re-elected in deep-red W.Va. was to be anti-Biden, anti-woke. The energy and climate change legislation is very unpopular in W.Va. If he’s not seeking re-election then we’re in danger of him backing other far-left bills.

Say goodbye to cutting edge medical and pharmaceutical innovation.Bingo. The brain drain will soon start to flow from the decayed US/EU Empire to the energy- and resource-rich BRICS nations.

It’s looking more and more like we wont retake the Senate because of weak candidates in Georgia and Penn. So this is Manchin’s last chance to have a say in what passes.

More borrowing from the 1970s Carter playbook!
This will definitely put the ‘stag’ in front of inflation!
Stagflation here we come!
Do they even have a different playbook?

You made a DEAL with the DEVIL, Joe! Fox reporting at top of the hour...Miss Ann has it nailed.
Where does that leave Senator Sinema...Does she have an off-setting vote?

.
The Republicans run to give them their deals on guns, for instance.
Why are they working with these people?
Why the desire to accommodate the Left? The Dems don’t do that.
I see Cornyn criticizing this and he just recruited others to give the Dems their Gun bill.

There was no immediate explanation why Manchin had suddenly agreed to the far broader package. Maybe he has some grandchildren that he loves.

Excellent. You know him by osmosis. I’ve been following his actual votes. He is way to the left of Susan Collins. If Trump runs, he needs to end Manchin’s political career once and for all, with the kind of support he provided to Pat Morrissey.
Heck, maybe a rematch is in order. Morrissey got a huge majority for AG in 2020. Too bad he’d have to give up his AG race to run for the Senate. But an opportunity like this doesn’t grow on trees. And US Senator has a ring to it that WV AG doesn’t quite match. Maybe he’s got his eye on Governor.

I've never trusted Manchin.
Notwithstanding a few diversions, designed to make him look like a maverick, somehow interested in what's best for our fine Country, his loyalties are with the Dems, I so strongly suspect.
