Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Sunday that the fact Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is Jewish does not negate his country's Nazi elements, claiming that Nazi Germany's leader Adolf Hitler also "had Jewish blood."
According to an interview with Italian media, Lavrov said: âSo what if Zelenskyy is Jewish? The fact does not negate the Nazi elements in Ukraine. I believe that Hitler also had Jewish blood. It means absolutely nothing. The wise Jewish people said that the most ardent antisemites are usually Jews."

No time to declare full retard on anyone who thinks this isnt a land grab.
But what you and he are doing is merely reverse identity politics. There were bad Jewish leaders in the past. Therefore, Zelensky is a Nazi and the proof is that he’s Jewish. When he puts linguistic Russians in a ghetto, makes them wear a special badge, and/or starts cattle cars rolling towards death camps, call me.
It also shows ignorance of recent Ukrainian history. After Yanukovitch walked away from the European deal and instead signed a deal with Russia, triggering the Maidan uprising, he was deposed and skeedaddled to Moscow in the middle of the night.
He was replaced by Poroshenko, and at the same time Russia invaded Crimea and sent in the DPR as its proxy to wage war in Donbas. So far? Poroshenko then waged all-out war on Donbas, saying that “our children will go to school while theirs huddle for safety in their basements...that’s why we will win this war.” Bastardly thing to say. You might make an argument that he was a Nazi, but like I said, even Poroshenko didn’t have cattle cars, extermination camps, badges of shame or ghettos, so while the Azov Battalion did some nasty stuff, typical of a civil war, and did wear insignia reminiscent of the Nazis, the charge of “Nazi” remains on very thin ice.
Enter Zelensky. He’s a linguistic Russian himself, as his sir-name and history attests. Sluga Narodu (Servant of the People) is recorded almost entirely in Russian. Prior to Sluga Narodu, his comedy troupe toured Mongolia and Russia and were big hits there. And he finally switched from show biz to politics on a platform of cleaning out corruption and making peace in Donbas. He failed in both endeavors, because he was too inexperienced and naive to do either. He yielded too much to Putin to come out of negotiations with a peace agreement that Ukrainians in general, and the Azov/Poroshenko faction especially to accept. As for corruption, it’s too ubiquitous in Ukraine for a neophyte politician to even stay clear of, let alone clean out.
So, then, what to do with the militant Ukrainian nationalists who stymied his attempts to surrender too much to Putin? He took the Azov Battalion and converted it from a local militia into a part of the national military, in the process recruiting all the soccer toughs and barroom brawlers who wanted to be a part of it because they were kick-a@@ fighters in spite of everything, and who didn’t care about any nebulous “Nazi” ideologues at its core in Mariupol; they wanted to defend Ukraine, and wanted no part of any socialism, national or otherwise. That Mariupol core has now surrendered, if they ever were Nazis. What’s left is the national organization using their name and insignia, which is basically soccer toughs and barroom brawlers who want to defend their country and also fight a lot.
So much for the whole “Zelensky is a Nazi” narrative. Reminds me of the log vs. splinter metaphor, and as long as we’re referring to the New Testament, why not figure out the good guys from the bad guys by their fruits as well. Invading other countries is what Nazis do. Targeting civilian areas is what Nazis do. Putting your own country above all others and not caring what horrific things you do to others is what Nazis do. And accusing others of the very thing you are guilty of is what Nazis do. Putin is the Nazi. Zelensky is a hapless savant. Utterly mediocre as a politician in most situations, and in above his head. But as a war leader, he happens to have it going on, which is why Ukraine is still in the fight, almost six months later, against overwhelming odds. Give him points for courage, and stop making stupid noises about democracy. No, he’s not about democracy, but he is about Ukrainian national sovereignty and fighting a war. That’s all he needs to be about. The rest of his act needs work, and whatever help the West provides Ukraine needs to be within the boundaries of a proxy war, not a holy crusade for “democracy,” a concept so foreign to Foe Brandon and friends that it’s sickening to hear him overcompensate for his dictatorial behavior by repeating it like some damned mantra. It’s also foreign to Zelensky, Ukraine, Eastern Europe, Russia and Putin, and totally irrelevant to the conflict in Ukraine.

But you see I have been following this whole Russia and Ukraine affair for quite some time, not just from this morning when I came across this article, and Lavrov’s statements are part of an extensive narrative, not limited to that which was excerpted in this one article.

Also held back Russian troops until after the Warsaw Ghetto uprising was put down. Then moved into the German-occupied part of Poland.
Run by Nazis how? Where are the ghettos? Where are the badges of shame? Where are the mass deportations in cattle cars? The slave labor camp? If Zelensky didn’t have so much as one drop of Jewish blood, that would still be a bald, unsubstantiated assertion.
And even if there were goose-stepping jack-booted thugs drilling in the Maidan every day, that would not be a legitimate casus bellus for a full-scale invasion by Russia.
On the other hand, we do see the Blitz right before our eyes. Civilian areas targeted by missiles. Unprovoked invasion. Not to mention the forcible confiscation of children from their parents, and the Russ-ification of the education system in occupied territories. I rest my case.
The notion that there are Nazis so Putin gets to invade Ukraine is absurd. There was a history of Nazism in Ukraine going back to the German invasion. Ukrainians, who themselves had suffered genocidal mass starvation by the Stalin regime, carried out wherever possible by Jewish party members so that they would catch the brunt of the back-lash when it came, looked on the German invaders as liberators. However, Hitler played the Banderas Nazi sympathizers like a fiddle. On the one hand, using them to do a lot of the dirty work in the concentration camp, which they at first looked on as revenge against their erstwhile tormentors. On the other hand, keeping Stalin’s collectivization regimen in place, only stealing the grain to feed the Wehrmacht instead of the Soviet urban areas. End result: Ukrainians remained enslaved, and starving, and they also got tarred with the brush of Nazism for their vindictiveness against the Jews at that time.

Sure. One of them is the Putin Blitz Krieg invasion of Ukraine, which is of a piece with the ongoing occupation of Crimea and the Putin Blitz Krieg invasion of Georgia and the Putin Blitz Krieg wanton retaliatory destruction of Chechnya.
I’m sorry, but being invaded means not, for the time being, having to constantly prove you are not a Nazi. Zelensky being Jewish is the very least of it.
Constantly invading your neighbors is a very strong piece of evidence that Putin IS a Nazi!
Hitler might have been a homo. He certainly had a lot of friends who bent that way. Zelensky, however, is the father of two small children by a beautiful shiksa. Dancers are excellent athletes. I knew a green belt in Tai Kwan Do who started out in ballet.
But all this is neither here nor there. Whatever Zelensky is or is not personally is between him and his voter base at the next election. It is not between Putin’s barbaric horde and the Ukrainian people.
Let’s not forget the wholesale slaughter of Jewish partisans during the war by Stalin’s partisans, as well as the “Jewish Doctors” scare that he never got off the ground due to his sudden death.
Then there’s the inescapable fact that he was allied with Hitler until he turned on him, and together they carved up Poland.

You really are a D- level propaganda poster. Russia was leveling houses from the first day of their invasion. And they even managed to kill some Russians living in Ukraine.
Trying to pretend that Russian didn't mean to damage anything, but somehow they end up destroying thousands of apartment buildings and homes is ridiculous.
In Bordyanka, early in the war the Russians were just trying to clean the carpets as a part of their "soft" invasion.
Who gaf about some Ukrainian kid sporting Hitler ink? You clearly do. Why is a Ukrainian kid with Hitler ink a reason to invade another country and kill thousands of people including innocent children but some "off brand gopnik", your words for a Russian kid, something that nobody should care about?
Don’t bother. Putinists are brainwashed and incapable of accepting defeat. Russia and their savior KGB Putin have been beaten by Ukrainian farmers but they are psychologically unable to accept the fact that Kyiv stands.
Poland just placed an order for 1000 MBT and other goodies. No doubt many of those will end up in Ukrainian hands. The USSR and imperialist Russia is dead. It’s not coming back no matter the fantasies of Putin and his useful idiots in the west.

As for Lavrov’s statements...he's going to play whatever card he has in hand just as we do in conflicts. We did the same in Syria, Iraq and other conflicts.... And just like we have Antifah on our streets and other bad actors there is a bastion of Nazi lovers in Ukraine (call them what you will) that can't be denied either, with their own agenda as well as without one...it is a mixed bag.
NATO is just a red herring as is the “de-Nazification” ruse. Putin wants to restore Soviet Russia to its fullness, and he wants more black soil areas, more coal mining areas, more petroleum reserves, and more mill towns that Ukraine has. Nazis and NATO are excuses for a blatant criminal land grab.
Spot on. And he wants lots of white Ukrainians to become “Russian.” Putin, and Russia, have a huge muslim time bomb ticking away. Russian women love abortions and Russian men love to cheat and get drunk. That’s not a recipe for demographic success.
Talk about propaganda. Besides that, this attack is highly disputed as to who actually did this.
