The morons in Texas used to brag about their windmills
Is that the same one already posted down below?
To maintain the simulation someone must say Lou Christie.

Don’t forget about the house sized concrete and steel thing underground holding it up
Forty plus percent of Texas’ electric portfolio is dependent on wind. It sucks to be stupid.
It did put up a good fight - it kept spinning for a bit even after it was engulfed in flames.
Don Quixote would be impressed.
“800 gallons of oil in the gearbox and around 1,300 gallons of mineral oil in the ground-level transformer, “
The fire wouldn’t have happened if they had used electricity in the gearbox instead of oil. Just more proof we’ve got to move faster to get rid of fossil fuels.
I see a lot of wasted lightning electricity there.
We need to add lightning catchers as a source of electricity.
Solar and wind are getting passé. Everyone has them.
The turbine got the 1.21 Gigawatts but it was not traveling 88 mph

btw I’ve read in the past that offshore turbines - including in the Gulf of Mexico - have a lifetime of more or less 8 years! if anyone finds a documented reference, please post, as I can no longer locate the article I read.
ZOT!
Texas produces more power from wind than any other state, and the U.S. Energy Information Administration reports the Lone Star State is home to more than 13,000 turbines.Texas was the chest pounding big mouths pushing deregulation. Looks like they got that and not enough to charge their cars and run their AC's at the same time out of the deal.
"We’re not equipped to handle that kind of fire. Nobody in the area really is to speak of," Shaw said.A Fire Dept.in Texas not equipped to put out an oil fire? The fire chief estimated there were 800 gallons of oil in the gearbox and around 1,300 gallons of mineral oil in the ground-level transformer
