Mark Aungst, who was facing up to six months in prison and a $5,000 fine, killed himself on July 20, according to his obituary.

Aungst was among the many Jan. 6 demonstrators caught up in a protracted legal process stemming from the chaos of that day. He had pled guilty to a charge of demonstrating or parading in a restricted building and was due to be sentenced in September.

The deceased reportedly walked through the Capitol building taking photographs during the incident.

Why? Simple. Conservatives are apathetic.

Ya, well, apathy will get us sitting on the side of a ditch with a pistol to our head.

I'm pretty motivated to avoid that fate.

Yeah, my point is that we can’t just sit back and scream at our politicians and expect them to GIVE us everything we want. Not even this. We have to be willing to work for it if we are really concerned about it. And, if we really cared enough to get out in the streets to protest this, the whole economy would shut down as we are usually the ones quietly and peacefully doing our jobs.

I am motivated to act as well. But, the truth is that many people DO feel that fear, can and will lose much if not everything. My question is, when will we be ready to act? When will we have had enough? If not now, for this cause, when? How far do they have to push us, how hard do they have to slap us down before we are ready to stand up for ourselves and our brothers and sisters?

Don’t think that I am sitting up here on my high horse criticizing Conservatives for this. I feel that I, more than anyone else, am to blame. I haven’t stood up to this. I haven’t stood up FOR this. So, in the end, it is my fault that this has not changed.

We have been conditioned, mostly by the media and our public schools, to think of our politicians as our “leaders” when they were never meant to be that. We, the people, are supposed to lead this country. We elect representatives to give voice to OUR will, not the other way around. So, until we are ready to stand up and take the lead, I can’t fault them much for staying quiet.

As a student of history, I've observed that most societies will rise in revolt when the food stops.

That should happen Oct/Nov this year. Prepare accordingly.

While I fear that you may be right, I sincerely hope and pray that you are wrong. Do I want to see us stand up for ourselves, yes. But, having seen first-hand violent revolutions, war, and the suffering that surrounds such, I NEVER want that for my homeland. Does that mean that I will hide my head in the ground and hope it passes, no. But, I keep hoping (perhaps against hope) that we never see it here.

i am sure, like the hidden pork eating jews in Inquisition Spain, there are those that would “be turned”, and yet not, in the military.
