A radical plan for Trump’s second term
Axios ^ | 7/22/22 | Jonathan Swan

Posted on 07/22/2022 8:40:42 PM PDT by jetvol1

Former President Trump’s top allies are preparing to radically reshape the federal government if he is re-elected, purging potentially thousands of civil servants and filling career posts with loyalists to him and his "America First” ideology, people involved in the discussions tell Axios.

The impact could go well beyond typical conservative targets such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Internal Revenue Service. Trump allies are working on plans that would potentially strip layers at the Justice Department — including the FBI, and reaching into national security, intelligence, the State Department and the Pentagon, sources close to the former president say.

Wow. If a person wishes to trim waste in the American Federal Government, then he has numerous opportunities. Simply cancel funding to thousands of departments, such as NPR, NEA, FBI, etc. Larry Elder for advice.

Start by firing about 90% of the senior executive service and then the top 1000 of the political appointees.

If only this were true, but being reported by Axios it’s probably Fake News.

author Swan is pretty straight up. i believe it and pray its true and comes to fruition. Remember, DjT thought he would be loved in the WH in ‘16. He won’t make that mistake a second time.

Such extensive detail and sourcing could not come from 1 or 2 peeps speaking out of school. i think its a recruitment drive with thousands of willing compatriots.

It’ll surely be used against him in a campaign which could result in recruiting even more patriots. The bloated civil serve beltway employees will oppose it, but they wouldn’t vote for him anyway.

Love it. Masterclass stuff....no stones unturned.

Might be a good trend to have the swamp water turn over every 8 to 16 years. This way many more get a swill at the trough.

...doesn’t look like draining the swamp to me, more like changing the flavor of the water...

If I was going to drain the swamp, lessee:

1) eliminate stare decisis. Instead of requiring judges to follow the law, require them to do justice. Make justice the goal of the justice system. I know, what a thought, right?

2) eliminate the teaching of law. No more lawyers. You got a problem? You tell us about it. Probably unconstitutional but we could make it so.

3) constitutional amendment: reduce the size of the federal gov’t by 10% a year until it’s down to 1/10 the size it is now.

4) eliminate the President and the Congress. If somebody at the head of an agency (if there are any left) retires, have the replacement run for office. Let the people declare war, if somebody does something to us. We’d have to have a mechanism, but techs could think that up.

...I know, there are problems with all these ideas. But imagine how much more peaceful our lives could be, without all that government on top. If there are decisions to be made, let the people make them. Simplify, simplify, simplify!!!

All must go, all. This should have been done in his first term.

The word radical comes from the Latin word for root, meaning “rising from or going to a root.”

A radical government reform would rip out the administrative state by its roots. A new, Constitutional structure can be established to replace the current dinosaur.

This proposal only affects Excepted Service employees, not Competitive Service.

The President has no Constitutional authority to eliminate any department without Congressional approval. Also if the Congress authorizes funding to a Federal entity, the President has no legal authority to refuse to fund it within the Executive Branch. Congress has the power of the purse strings even within the Executive Branch and Congress’s allocations have the rule of law.

I don’t think most Civil Servants care about this proposal one way or the other. The vast majority of Federal employees are Competitive Service positions which are not affected by this proposal.

forgive me if this was already posted.

About three times now from different sources.

I hope Trump picks a better crowd to surround himself with this time around than the gaggle of imbeciles, back stabbers, and deep state stooges that he brought in during his first administration.

But then I have to ask myself, will he?

He had an opportunity to radically alter the EPA when he put Scotty Pruitt in charge and gave him the green light to take a flamethrower to the countless job-killing EPA regulations but liberals, who believe the EPA belongs to them regardless of who is in the White House raised a fit so President Trump, always trying to please those who loath him, demanded Pruitt's resignation.

Scotty Pruitt was the most MAGA person Trump put in charge of anything and Trump sent him packing after liberals cried.
