A Missouri looter was convicted of murder Wednesday for killing a former St. Louis police captain during a 2020 night of violence in the aftermath of the George Floyd police murder.
A jury found Stephan Cannon guilty of killing David Dorn while the retired captain investigated a break-in at his friend’s pawn shop on June 2, 2020. Cannon, 26, fired 10 shots at Dorn, 77, after the ex-cop approached the pawn shop and shot his gun in the air to deter looters, prosecutors said. Cannon was convicted of first-degree murder, meaning the jury concluded he had premeditated the killing.
He was also found guilty of robbery, burglary and armed criminal action. He faced a mandatory term of life in prison without parole at his September sentencing.

Hey, he needed money. His baby mama needed a hair weave and he had to get a set of 22" inch rims for his Chrysler 300. A thug's gotta do what a thug's gotta do

And what about all the street trash that burned down businesses (some black owned) and a police station? Will they be prosecuted?
I’m not holding my breath.

Did you get that? He FIRED HIS WEAPON INTO THE AIR, to "deter looters." This is extremely foolish. Not to pile on here, as a good man is dead, but DO NOT EVER FIRE A "WARNING" SHOT.
If you unholster and discharge a weapon, and you "fire a warning shot" this just alerts any armed thugs to your presence and makes you a target, as it did here.
The time to "warn" someone is way before you utilize a gun. When that comes out, shoot until the threat is neutrailized, or don't shoot. Warning shots are TERRIBLE practice. This is not TV, folks.

Your first warning shot should be into the center of mass of the first thug. That’s all the warning his friends should get.

Captain Dorn was exercising the rules of fair play. He was 77 and probably not aware that Xiden's antifa thugs did not play by the rules.
He was just doing what good cops are supposed to do.

    No.
Good cops don’t fire warning shots.
They DO miss the target often.

The creep deserves the death penalty -- to be carried out
 within a year!!!

There is no such thing as “fair play” when it comes to instruments of death. “Good cops” are intelligent cops, which means you acquire your target, then announce “police, put your hands up and get on your knees.” If the person fails to obey, shoot him. THAT is “fair play.”
This guy was just dumb.
Not so much interested in being vindicated on his case as I am fearful that a LOT of people (including freepers) may have a weapon and (like this guy) have no real understanding of the rules of engagement. In this case, they got a man killed. Just don’t want it to happen again.
That is all

And the people behind this kid’s life who taught him to be a thug go free and easy.
Thank you Hollywood & Youtube, thank you FDR & LBJ, thank you Democrats, thank you BLM... you made this murderer.
