Recent shipments of U.S. and allied weapons, particularly the Himars multiple-launch rocket systems and 155mm howitzers, have helped to blunt Russia’s offensive in the Donbas and stabilize the situation there, Mr. Zelensky said. The Russians used to fire 12,000 artillery shells daily against 1,000 to 2,000 by Ukraine, he said. Now, he added, Ukraine can fire some 6,000 shells a day while Russia is beginning to feel a shortage of ammunition and troops.
This change in the balance of firepower has stemmed Ukrainian casualties, Mr. Zelensky said. At the peak of fighting in May and June, he said, Ukraine was losing between 100 and 200 troops a day; now, it is down to some 30 fatalities a day and around 250 wounded.

“A Wall Street Journal-NORC poll last month found that 89% of Ukrainians oppose a peace deal that would cede any territory conquered by Russia this year.”

Wishful thinking.
Europe will cut a deal before winter to make sure they have heat.
(me) What do you mean exactly?
(you) You know, support it.
(me) No, I don’t know what that means. Support it how?
(you) Look, stop asking questions, Putin Puffer. I don’t know what that means. It’s a generic and vague show of support which indicates my level of depth and concern.
(me) Oh. Are you planning to fight for Zelenskyy?
(you) Dirty RuZZian

Actually, the poll claimed that 189% percent opposed it.

They have an election coming up in, I think, 2024. Zelinsky is at forty-ish percent. The other parties are at thirty or way below. But, still, if he agreed to anything perceived as helping Russia keep some of Ukraine, he’d lose. Estimates are they’re losing about 100 people per day. But they’ve apparently expanded the military to one million, or many, many times larger than the peacetime Russian military. If things keep going the way they are, Russia is cooked.
The American mid-terms are probably one of the greatest dangers to Ukraine and they’d best have things going their way by then as I’m reading the Republicans will largely come out as giving Zelinsky the finger rather than more money or weapons.
Every side is under pressure. The question is, who cracks first?
You had that conversation with SpeedyInTexas?? Or are you hallucinating?
EU nat gas storage levels already at 65%. Looks like storage will reach 80%, maybe even 90-95% before winter.
Just like “JoeyinHawaii” and “TommyinMaine” and “BillyinIllinois,” and the other rubes with similar screennames who all say the same thing.
So Speedy is really Speedo?

RuZZia is being demilitarized on the cheap.
Zelensky is just the paid for mouthpiece of his neocon puppet masters. A poll taken just a couple of weeks ago showed that 80% of Ukrainians wanted Zelensky to seek a negotiated settlement. They know full well they are unlikely to prevail against Russia, and the longer this continues, the more lives will be lost, the more destruction incurred, and the further loss of territory which will probably never be regained. Funny how all the pro-Ukie warmongers on here don’t reflect the actual opinions of the majority of Ukrainians. Of course they’re not the ones having to fight it nor suffer the consequences that result from this war’s continuation.
