A New York City family has given Governor Kathy Hochul‘s campaign hundreds of thousands of dollars, while the state has paid the family’s company more than half a billion dollars.
Entrepreneur Charlie Tebele’s family donated close to $300,000 to Hochul’s campaign, according to an investigative report by the Times Union published Tuesday.
Meanwhile, New York paid hundreds of millions for COVID tests to Tebele’s company, Digital Gadgets. Since December, the New York Health Department has paid Digital Gadgets $637 million in taxpayer funds for COVID test kits, records show.
The health department reportedly did not conduct any competitive bidding before ordering the COVID tests from the company and paying it the enormous sum.

When I was conducting RFPs, we couldn’t go over $30,000 sole-source and had to write lots of justification (REAL justification about the uniqueness of the supplier or their tech) and get lots of upper management approvals.

All the tests are “Emergency Use Authorized” and have never been proven. I know of a person who went through 5 home “tests” one after the other until they got the positive they were looking for. These things are a cash cow and DNA harvesting tool in the case of nasal brushes.

Why were they looking for a positive result? To get a vacation from work? If I got four negative tests in a row, I would conclude I don't have it. It's weird to keep going until you get a positive result.

Probably awarded as an emergency expenditure, which does not require compedative bidding.

Here in North Idaho, maybe half wore masks even at the peak and our results were better than many crazy states. But this summer I’ll see a few people wearing masks. They look like Martians.
