the new ford focus...

Ha, very right. Go to the Ford website and look what they are selling this model year. There is only one car in their lineup anymore, the mustang. They are now a truck and suv company that uses EVs to juice their CAFE standards numbers so they can still be allowed to sell the diesel F-250s thst keep the country running.

Ford plans to cut 8,000 jobs to focus on electric vehicles or is it because they focused on electric vehicles and they’re failing

One of the stories today related that engineers were the first round of Ford RIFs. I hope your BIL received a generous severance/retirement package for his many years of service to Ford.

I understand Ford can’t move their EV inventory because of chip shortages.

The internal combustion crowd can’t manufacture EVs? What are they supposed to do? Learn code or become coal miners?

Ford and GM are going way too fast and far chasing this EV rabbit fad. If they don’t back away from it neither company will exist in ten years.

One good thing might come out of this - there will be a possible 8000 voters that will not choose Dem candidates to vote for, since they created the mess that took their livelihoods.

The RIF’d employees could take up mining rare earth metals for the EV batteries.

Oh, ye of little faith. As long as liberals are in charge, taxpayers will bail out every green fantasy.

One would hope, but connecting the dots for some is not that easy.

It must be tough to be in product planning right now. Because Trump will reverse this bad plan in 2025. It’s not easy to change vehicle plans on short order.

Trump is not on the board of directors of Ford Motor Company.

Guarantee there’s a large government subsidy somewhere in this story.
