The mother of the 18-year-old gunman who killed 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde apologized when confronted Tuesday by relatives of one of the victims
A tense confrontation between the mother of the Uvalde school shooter and relatives of one of the children he killed was caught on camera Tuesday.
A Telemundo news crew captured the emotionally charged encounter between Adriana Martinez, the mother of the 18-year-old shooter, and relatives of Uvalde victim Amerie Jo Garza, the network reported.
Reporter Edgar Munoz said in an Instagram post that the meeting was accidental and happened after a community meeting Tuesday.
The video showed Martinez being asked what reasons her son had for the attack that killed 19 children and two teachers.
Martinez said her son had mental health issues. "You have no right to judge my son. No, you don't. No, you don't. No. May God forgive you all," Martinez responded.
Martinez then apologized and called her son a coward.
"I know my son was a coward. You think I don't know that? I know," she said, holding a cellphone to her ear. "You don't think I'm carrying all that with me? You don't think I don't know? I know, and I'm sorry."
Telemundo's video showed sheriff's deputies arriving at the scene to de-escalate the situation and escort the mother away.
You have no right to judge my son. No, you don’t. No, you don’t. No. May God forgive you all,” Martinez responded.
Not sure about that statement.
It would best if she moved back to Mexico.
“Only God can judge me” fallacies are big among the lower classes and the ignorant.
She’s appealing to God to forgive the wrong people, and yes, they do have the right to judge her son.
“Awkward” is an understatement. She’s lucky the others weren’t armed...
That’ll fix everything.
Best to stay clear of the mother she has no control of anything including herself 🤪
in 108 degree heat none the less
You absolutely have the right to judge a person who has sinned against you. Now as to how you judge them, let our Lord’s grace and mercy guide your judgement.
Ultimately, in the end God will judge you. But while you are on this earth, men WILL judge you. That’s why we have judges and juries. There is even a book in the bible called Judges.
What could she say that would stop your hatred?
Any fing thing?
Anything?
I’m sorry.
Forgive if you want to see you kid in heaven, let it go for God’s judgement. You are powerless. Accept the mystery, or burn in bile the rest of your life.
She could have wept with them and shared in their loss. Then blamed the people that encouraged her son to become an transvestite
If mom is legal, take an arm. If she is illegal, take all limbs and roll her back over the border on pay per view.
Forgive if you want to see you kid in heaven, let it go for God’s judgement. You are powerless. Accept the mystery, or burn in bile the rest of your life.
It takes grace to forgive in a situation like this. You can't will yourself to forgive in your heart.
Grieving for her son and those he killed. A mother’s worst nightmare.
Quite the soothing touch...
She’s probably right she’s carrying a load of weight on her shoulders. ....guilt and lots of pain that’s going to take years to come to grips with....if ever.
Hatred? Self righteous much? Accidental death is forgivable. Intentional slaughter is not.
