Model Predicts GOP Candidate Eric Greitens Trounces Dem Opponent in Missouri Senate General Election

A midterm election forecast predicts former Gov. Eric Greitens (R-MO) will win Missouri’s U.S. Senate race in a blow-out, with his odds of victory sitting at 96.1 percent against a Democrat opponent in the general election.

A central talking point among establishment conservatives against the America First candidate is that Greitens would have trouble overcoming a Democrat in the general election, but Decision Desk’s model, which ran through 14,000,605 midterm election simulations, has Greitens winning 96 out of 100 races, dismantling the establishment’s talking points. As evidenced in Dan Cox’s Maryland’s GOP gubernatorial primary win Tuesday, a battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party is front and center this mid-term election cycle as America First candidates are rising up against the establishment. It is no different in Missouri, where the political insiders have levied an all-out assault on Greitens’ campaign, unsuccessfully, in an effort to prevent him from becoming the nominee.

The contest was largely viewed as a three-way race between Greitens, MO Attorney General Eric Schmitt, and Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO), but in a Truth Social post earlier this month, Trump told voters in the Show Me State that they “can forget about Vicky Hartzler for Senate” adding that he “will NOT BE ENDORSING HER FOR THE SENATE!”

Trump’s rejection of Hartzler was a brutal blow to her campaign in a state where Trump won handily in 2020 and seemingly set up a fight to the finish between Greitens and Schmitt with Trump’s endorsement still on the line.

I never bought the talking point that if nominated, Greitens would lose in November.

I'd like at least ONE Senator that's openly anti-McConnell.

There is one other and he’s the future Senior Senator from Kentucky.

I’ll still support Schmitt who hasn’t proven himself to be the despicable guy Greitens is.

This sounds good as long as climate modeling simulation computers weren’t used to make the prediction.

I’m for anybody against McConnell. There is not one man more responsible for allowing our nation to be stolen, plundered. He could have stopped it but he was part of it. I pray God exposes his crimes and corruption everyday.

“Oh but he was great on Judges””...no...no that does not excuse what he has done.

Decision Desk’s model

And what is the Decision Desk model's track record? Is their model for a two way race or the three way race Missouri is going to have?

Yep. As I recall, Hillary was running something in the nineties favored against Trump.

Democrats can be very difficult to defeat in an election.

The problem with Grietens is that for all his bluster, he is weak. He was elected governor and THEN let himself get forced out. We need someone smarter at political infighting.

Such a man of values and integrity - resigned in disgrace as governor for his philandering. A real asset to our cause!

And such a man of principal! Stuck his finger in the wind to decide which political philosophy to claim he supported for electoral success in conservative trending Missouri.

Who couldn’t be excited at the prospect of Greitens as a Senator?

Greitens has all the right enemies.

Karl Rove and the entire RINO establishment is throwing a lot of money and a lot of slime at him trying to stop him. Anybody they are that bitterly opposed to deserves our full support.

I’m a Missourian, I voted for Greitens for governor, I do not like him. He was a Democrat until a few years before his gubernatorial run, and his behavior cheating on his wife, with the wife of a well-known St Louis DJ, just prior to announcing his gubernatorial bid, betrays a serious ego problem. He betrayed his voters by cheating on them and taking PICS of the incident, no less. And now there are allegations of spousal and child abuse. Schmitt is a good man, and he’s getting my vote. I don’t trust Greitens far enough to spit, for good reason.

I just voted for Schmitt. There are few white suburban women who would vote for Greitens given his cheating and abusive treatment of his wife. He is all-ego, all-the-time. If Greitens wins the nomination, we are looking at Senator Trudy Bush Valentine...and she won't even have to campaign outside of St. Louis, Boone, and Jackson counties. Greitens won't debate and only does private events.

Trump's support of Greitens is NOT helpful to getting a Republican Senate.

I absentee-voted today for Schmitt. I was torn between Schmitt and Hartzler. Both sound good. The only way I would vote for Greitens is if he wins the primary and faces a Democrat in November and I hold my nose (which is what I did when he ran for governor).

Well it’s moot now that he’s not the nominee.

I just never bought that he would lose to the Democrat.
