(CNN) - Members of the conservative Republican Study Committee thanked former Vice President Mike Pence for his actions on January 6 and encouraged him to run for President during a private meeting on Wednesday near the US Capitol in Washington, according to multiple attendees.

Rep. Don Bacon, a Nebraska Republican, said lawmakers offered Pence encouraging words about a potential presidential bid, saying they hope he plays a big role in 2024 and that they need more voices like his in the party.

Pence responded with a smile, according to Bacon, but did not tip his hand about his plans for his political future.

I have wondered how much support Pence has among mainstream Republican officials, and voters.

I know we hate Mike Pence here on Free Republic, but not everyone looks at him as we do. Some Republicans were praising his actions on January 6 as some profile in courage.

Could be a moot point. Trump is the GOP nominee if he wants to run in 2024.

His 2024 “campaign fund” is just a grift to load up on retirement cash.

Will you vote for him in the 2024 primaries?

Members of the conservative Republican Study Committee thanked former Vice President Mike Pence for his actions on January 6 and encouraged him to run for President during a private meeting on Wednesday near the US Capitol in Washington, according to multiple attendees.

Why would anyone outside of the corrupt Democrats laud the cowardice of Pence?

All Pence had to do was delay the counting of the Electoral College votes because of clear conflicts, and the presence of alternate Electors. Pence insulted the alternate Electors by his failure to acknowledge or look into their concerns.

A short delay, accompanied by intensive investigations, could have answered the valid questions about the vote count.

Given the existence of statistical irregularities, weird bell weather results, and evidence of massive voter fraud, it was simply common sense to delay the counting for a few days.

Why did these Republicans decide that they had to make a statement right now? Do they believe that the 2020 election was the most secure in the history of the world? What is wrong with them? Who are they trying to please besides the corrupt Democrats?

Realistically, there was not any clear information that came out in the next few days that would have changed anything. We didn't really get anything like that until this year with the votes in Arizona and Wisconsin.

Sounds like the Democrats are going to field a few candidates and aren’t sure about how to steal this one.

There is a sizable number of Trump voters like myself who relished his sustained assault on these republicans during the 2015-16 Primary.

I wouldn’t vote for a Pence,McConnell,McCarthy if i was paid handsomely.

Richard Barris has identified roughly 10% of the 74 million who voted for Trump as people like me and he says its nearly 20% in some states

The republican party has zero future without Trump voters and most likely lucky to reach Romney numbers ever again. Some folks are in for a very rude awakening

True. I know the prevailing view here is that Mike Pence should have rejected electoral votes. If he had done so, most likely those states officials would simply have re affirmed those slates of electors. And the election would not have been changed.

There is no shortage of Republican politicians that absolutely detest Donald Trump us.

Fixed it to show who their real problem is with. Trump was the embodiment of the base they court but loathe so they sought to destroy him. But at the heart it's us they hate and resent.

Realistically, there was not any clear information that came out in the next few days that would have changed anything. We didn't really get anything like that until this year with the votes in Arizona and Wisconsin.

Given that the steal was the result of a massive, coordinated conspiracy, involving many countries, billions of dollars, and corrupt media, very little clear information would have come out of a brief delay. No one was going to admit that they made a mistake, or allowed fraudulent results to be "certified."

The blowback by the Democrats would have been explosive and unrelenting. It would have been a long shot for anything good to come out, but maybe a seed of doubt about the integrity of the election would have been planted.

And Pence would have done the right thing to acknowledge the presence of alternate Electors, rather than ignoring them and pleasing the corrupt Democrats.

Pence isn’t done.

The $5 Million book, New Mansion, and No show Swamp position isn’t enough.

He and the greedy little lady want more.

It’s all about $$$$

And If you think the House GOP that Approved the Vax Database $$$ and spent Trillions on Joe’s projects are going to really Investigate him, please don’t operate a vehicle.
